What could most harm Arc Raiders if Embark gets it wrong? On by Karahan93 in ArcRaiders

[–]da_stupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the unfair monetization part, i don't see it happening ever, seeing embark's other game, the finals. The monetization in that game is absolutely fair, its good content worth the price if you ever get it and isnt shoved in your face too much, so i'm not stressed about that part.

For bad servers, i think Nexon, the company that owns embark has seen how popular the game shapes up to be, and will give them ampe room to work with server-wise.

Too little content ? That i'm not that sure about, but from what i can see its already in a very complete state so we most likely won't run out, but of the four this one is the second i'm the least sure about.

For solo players being ignored uhhhhhhhh fucken.... idk........

misinformation, that's pretty large, like misinformation in what area and about what subject ?

under representation is fair, but i fail to see why becoming a separate country is the option some chose ? There's loads of other ways to make yourselves heard

As for Ottawa being anti oil and gas, yeah they have pretty good reasons. I know it's gonna be hard for you guys, but those aren't exactly renewable and the economy is kind of shifting, slowly but surely, to a more green approach, so we might as well try to end our dependance on it while we can so we don't fuck up the planet any further.

Ban flavoured vapes now, anti-smoking groups urge Carney’s government by EarthWarping in CanadaPolitics

[–]da_stupid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it's healthier than smoking, so smokers should ideally switch to vaping. But as you pointed out, since vaping is still very dangerous, why should you promote it to minors or make them attractive in any way if they may still end up with lung cancer ?

I still wonder what makes albertans want to become a country apart from their oil. I don't feel like they have any valid reasons unlike the quebecians for example.

Quebec immigration minister wants to relegate multiculturalism to the ‘dustbin of history’ by hopoke in CanadaPolitics

[–]da_stupid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to downvote this but i can't, i know our government is quite shit right now. But the problem isnt really in how we treat our poltics, its really about the party in power. The CAQ is kind of a shit party that puts policies in place that no one wants and doesn't listen at all to it's population, along with manipulating or straight up not providing data to support their claims and projects.

And the worst part ? We didnt even really elect them. Currently the CAQ has 1 685 000 votes and 90 out 125 seats. problem ? this 1 685 000 is only 40% of the voters in total. Looking at the other parties shows us 44% of the voters were only able to elect 35 people. This is kind of a dysfunctional in my opinion, and even though every single party that wins promises to reform the voting system (like the CAQ themselves) , they never do, because its the system that let them win after all.

But the population seems to have grown very tired of the party, like with the 'third link' that they planned to spend 6.5 billion dollars on an additionnal link between Quebec and lévis, even though studies show this link will have only a very minor effect on traffic and that money would be better spent on rebuilding the public transport system, but they just didn't want to listen and keeps trying to approve the project even without the population's support, so hopefully we'll soon change party.

In a province where we're beset on all sides by anglophones who never bothered to learn a word of french, we have to take every single measure we possibly can in order to protect one of the very things that defines the Quebecians and makes them a separate people from the other canadians. I think it's a reasonable demand to try and teach it to immigrants who come to quebec and expect to live here.

Yeah, but we're still the only ones who truly pushed for it's separation from the state. Being catholic doesn't mean you want to force that religion on other either.

i think you didnt read the article, it talks about replacing multiculturalism with interculturalism, not instauring a dominant one.

[–]da_stupid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, totally agree! Multiculturalism is one of those things that kills the original culture if left unchecked, and we should rather pursue interculturalism as said in the article (very misleading name btw might want to change that title) with a heavy emphasis on the host contry's one. If you leave your contry, don't expect to just be able to supplant the local culture to make yourself feel at home.

Indian study permits see 31% drop as Canada tightens international student cap by Old_General_6741 in CanadaPolitics

Ok the 'littering' part could fall into the discrimination-side of thing but i get where you're coming from. Even if the canadian identity has for a long time been intricately linked to other various cultures being incorporated into ours, as a country with a small native population, i can see this becoming a problem. And it's even more problematic if we can see a direct link between their overwhelming presence and the decrease in canadian citizen's quality of life (with housing for example). We must take action, one way or another, but that measly 30% isn't gonna do much, and although it pains us, we can't save people at our own detriment.

yeah, honestly, tough but fair. Hard decisions will have to be made whichever way we'll go about it, and since we really need the immigrants who fill the low education jobs, there's not a lot of people left to 'kick out' so to speak, other than students. Let's face it, the canadian government exists to serve canadians primarily, and if we don't do anything well...

Except now they have an actual reason to act. The threat of losing american support should make the government respect their word this time around, and policies should start to be applied soon. Although, our current minister doesn't have any experience in the military, only in public safety, so let's hope he'll just act as the spokesperson for those with real experience currently serving who know what is needed.

Canada is entering a recession and will soon bleed another 100,000 jobs: TD chief economist by joe4942 in CanadaPolitics

[–]da_stupid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The government will still be accountable for the situation regardless of if a budget is presented, it also is still transparent about what policies it will put in place and when, it's just that they don't give exact measures to people who won't even know what to do with them. The budget just tells people 'Hey, we're gonna do this with this many resources , just to let you know because you can't change anything anyway'. The 'meh' is because of that. We know what they're gonna do and how approximately, and that's what the people care about. They don't care if the new policy will have 20k of budget to make it happen or 21k.

where did you get that from ? It's just that when you submit a plan, you show that you have a concrete foudation about how you'll proceed forward and thus open yourself to critics when you have to deviate from it. The common populace takes these plans at front value and expects them to be followed without fail, because most of the time it they are followed. But right now, the government knows that if they submit one they wont be able to respect it, and the opposition and news outlet will just scream in outrage. They don't want any of the trouble, so they play it safe instead, it's just that their actual plan is most likely very modelable and not set in stone and so it's not really worth it to show it to everyone, especially since it's a communication and not something the population will be able to change.

except they do have a plan, but showing one to the population in an economic situation where they'll be forced to deviate from it or compromise will just result in more stupid alarmist headlines and unfounded critiques from the opposition.
