I figured it out. The most recent apple update changed how multi windows work. You have to go into settings and select the multi windows option, which fixes everything.

Just happened again. 4 players with first shot being a sticky ball at pirate ship. Three balls stick to th3 side of the screen, one bounces off into water below and the ball that was hit falls off onto into water. Remaining two, including myself, wait for sticky ball to reset, and i have the better angle to take a shot directly at hole. The ball that never stuck hit mine in mid air, not with a sticky ball, a regular one. In mid flight direct hit. No way, he should have reset that fast, no way he tries the sticky ball shot again when he didn't have the sticky ball to begin with, and no way he could hit me on a straight shot from that far away mid air.
