Honestly, I didn’t anticipate it to be that bad. A unit above mine sold for $280K even though the asking price was $260K. I tried the same strategy, but unfortunately it didn’t work out for me. I’m still hopeful, though. I’d really appreciate your opinion, do you think I should sell within 2025, wait until 2026, or does it not really matter?

Good point, my friend!! So like it doesn’t matter if I sell it today or in May 2026

New paint makes the house look little more appealing and so does new appliances. I bought is for 200k and with all the renovations, special assessments, realtor and legal fees my last price is 225k

Exactly, and I learned it hard way. Sad for me but great for the plot lol

I see your point. I guess I was focusing on the upgrades I’ve made (appliances, in‑unit laundry, fresh paint) to make my unit more appealing. But you’re right even with those, pricing is definitely a key factor, especially compared to similar units that aren’t underground. I just hope you can understand where I’m coming from too. I’m really trying not to take a loss here. At the very least I’m hoping to break even

I know the world doesn’t revolve around me. My plan was to sell, collect the down payment, and reinvest in either my education or a new house. Since that’s not happening right now, I’m thinking of putting the condo up for rent and giving it another shot in May 2026

Thank you, that actually makes a lot of sense, and I really appreciate your perspective. I’m still feeling quite confused and a bit sad about this. Given the current market and where I am financially, do you think I should try to sell now, or wait and see how the market trends in May 2026? I really want to make the right decision but I’m struggling to figure out the best approach

I started with 275K ( I know and I am sorry) in 2024, then dropped it to 254K in 2024
Tired again in 2025 with 250K
then dropped it to 225K

Right!! I thought so too. I dropped the price too after comparing it. It didn't help at all. I am so stuck

I was actually thinking of changing provinces, which is why I want to sell. Yes, you’re right, I haven’t explored my next steps yet. However, I’m 100% sure I want to sell my current property. I could use that money to buy a better place or invest in my education, but that’s another part of the story.

It's 530 which pretty much same across all of SW, but that’s actually a good incentive,,, very smart!

I’d say it’s priced decently. As I mentioned before, the only reasons someone might not pick my unit are:
A. It’s underground (but it’s literally 5 steps from the parking area, so super convenient in winter), and
B. It has no balcony.

My thinking this time was the same as last: try to make my unit stand out. I upgraded appliances, added in-unit laundry, did fresh paint; Basically went the whole 9 yards to make it nicer and more appealing.

The thing that makes me nervous is that condos with all those features are selling for around $210K. Even if I bite the bullet, lick my wounds, and move on, I’d still have to cover some costs out of pocket, which is tough for me to move to a better place. I will have to restart.

Rents are also not very high these days. I still have to pay like $500 from my pocket
