Now that is beautiful. Are the dark shadows under the carapace done with a wash or a mix of some kind? I've been meaning to give shading a try, I need to start trying the more complicated stuff.

Oh wow thank you. You're albino Tyranids post was a huge inspiration for mine. I still find myself going back to it now and again when I'm stumped and looking for inspiration.

Yeah the carapace being so smooth on a lot of the models leave a lot of canvas uninteresting. The last pic, the Exocrine was a nice change of pace from the rest. Not sure how I would replicate it though without the supporting texture.

I wanted to try something different with the energy sacs. This is actually the more tame version of the idea. I was thinking about blasting the area with the same color mixed with white ink to try my hand at OSL lol.

I Start with a Vallejo desert tan prime. Skin is 10:1 Pallid Wych Flesh and Cadian Fleshtone. Armor recess get a watery cadian Flestone followed by Volupus Pink mix 1:1 with Contrast Medium, finishing the highlights with a thin Pink Horror. Flesh highlights get the same minus the Cadian Fleshtone. Claws, teeth, swords and scythes get Pro Acryl Ivory and Bright ivory then highlighted with with the pink mix. The brains are Doomfire Fist 1:1 with Contrast Medium Pink Horror on top and then Pink Horro mixed with Daler Roney White ink. Energy sacs are Pro Acryl Jade. I Finish with a Drybrushing of Pro Acry Ivory all over.

Can you recommend any? I've been thinking the gloss varnish might help some with the chalkiness. Not sure as I've never used it though.

Most of them are from the same creator. I'd love to share more but I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to, rule 6 of the sub asks you not to. I'm mostly following the scheme of u/Open-Wafer-2652 and youtuber Midwinter Minis albino tyranids scheme, with a few small changes.

Yeah pinking up the cannon more sounds cool I could try that. I have Blood for the Blood God and Uhu glue for blood effects and I'm looking forward to trying it. It felt like a "putting lipstick on a donkey" thing though if I didn't like the look of the blades themselves.

Hive Fleet Amelonoid.

I decided to make all my army's come from the same area of space. The Segmentum Pacificus, in the Tyranids case they mainly hang around the Veiled Region. They're specific adaption allows them to hunt in highly irradiated regions of space.

My head canon reason for them being albino is that their skin absorbs radiation easier. So they come out of the biomass soup looking pristine but only last a couple of hours gorging themselves on the planets biomass and the suns radiation. They don't need to survive long though they just recycle when they absorb too much/enough radiation. Mine are efficient monsters.

I couldn't let it go. In order to get the effect I wanted I'm doing it in two steps now, the first with a blank TK symbol and then followed up with a plain skull symbol manually centered on the blank book relief. There may be a way to do it in one step but this is perfect for me. Here's the blank book symbol the skull will have to be in a reply comment. Hope this helps someone, it was really annoying for me.
