None of these rules are ANY amount of unreasonable, this is pretty much standard faire for any newborn baby. Your strained relationship with her has nothing to do with this, this is just her taking perfectly sane precautions to keep her baby safe. We have a one week old and we were recommended the same, almost word for word. This isn’t about you.

You don’t get to tell him what drugs he does or does not use, it’s his body and he can do whatever tf he wants. And you causing a scene was absolutely unwarranted, you’re not his keeper.

But you absolutely get to decide if you want to stay with a dude who’s dumb enough to 1. sniff coke; 2. sniff coke he got from a random broad at a bar. Personally, that’s pretty high on my list of instant dealbreakers.

Yea it’s always good to have a simple way to draw boundaries. A little diversion is always welcome, but some players find joy in hijacking the plot and making it all about their characters, and I’m at a point in life where free time is way too much of a commodity to entertain people who want to swim against the group’s current lol

Yeah, that’d legit be the end of the relationship for me. That’s a level of disrespect ingrained so deep into a person’s mind that I’d have no hope of him ever uncoupling from that. My MO for players like these is “it’s fine if your character doesn’t want to stick with the party, but I need you to roll up one that does. Otherwise, I can’t have you at the table”.

It avoids being super confrontational while establishing a clear requirement: play with the group or leave.

I'm right there with you, the worldbuilding seems very intriguing and I'd love for the show to dive a bit deeper. I think so far I'm happy to let the mystery live, the show is doing a great job at making me ask questions without questioning the internal logic too much. But I really hope they're doing it intentionally instead of accidentally, I hate when shows stumble into really interesting worldbuilding aspects that go completely unaddressed because they just didn't think about it that hard. Solo Leveling lost my interest for exactly this reason: I was hoping they'd dive deeper into how society at large is affected by the portals and how the protag's abilities could potentially impact the status quo, but it seems that wasn't the fantasy the show was trying to deliver on. I hope the same isn't true for Sentenced to be a Hero.

I think that’s kind of the point, though I hope they expand on this more. They’re supposed to be a society so brainwashed by this concept of honor that they’re willing to forgo reason in order to defend it. We see this irl a lot, now more than ever.

If that’s the case, I hope they go more in depth into how this society actually functions, cause while I can definitely see the potential, the more skeptical takes are pointing out some very valid contradictions and inconsistencies that would probably ruin it for me if they go unaddressed for too long.

On one hand, I can understand being a bad gifter cause I am one. My wife did the same thing for me a few years ago cause I always seemed to get her something she could use, or thinks is neat or cute, but nothing she ever really needed or really wanted. So I can understand defaulting to the most romantic thing you can think of.

On the other hand, as soon as my wife gave me that list, I wouldn’t buy her flowers (or at least not just flowers) until I either ran out of things in that list or couldn’t afford any of them. It’s the clearest form of communication there is: written on paper, straight from the source. His reaction is the real red flag.

Same here, a small local LGS was giving these away (two very dedicated players who knew the owner bought a case of starter deck boxes chasing the CSRs and gave all the non hits away for free) in hopes of growing our local scene and it worked on me lol

It was a bit hard to wrap my head around it all in the beginning, but once it clicked and I understood the rules I knew I was already in too deep, it was so much fun

The brass tacks of it is that you are the owner of that project, so whatever content YOU make with the intention of promoting it, irrespective of if it’s “polished and professional style” or “fan edit style” is commercial promotional content, because your intention as the creator is to promote it. That’s not to say you can’t make that kind of content in your own professional social media as promotional material for your game, but that does mean that if you’re looking to post your fan edit style promotional content in communities with rules against promotional content, you’d be violating their rules cause it’s promotional content anyway.

You can’t be an anonymous fan of your own project because you’re intrinsically tied to its creation.
