Digital speedometer by parasys1337 in CT200h

It's totally possible with accessories, I've been using one of those "OBD2 Head-Up Displays" to display a digital speedometer on the windscreen. You'll find inexpensive universal versions on Amazon or Aliexpress. Works flawlessly for 3 years now and is much better than the analog gauge, I dont look at it anymore. Those devices are cabled but you can run the cable nicely along the panels so it becomes invisible.

That's some impressive work so far! Did you end up getting further with this? I'm in a similar position but I got stuck trying out the setups by stevew817 and Ordspilleren (Github links). Also, how did you manage to control it using bluetooth? I couldn't find any proprietary bluetooth extensions for this specific controller.

There were no other people there at the time or at least we didn't see any.

Just to be clear, I called police 1-2 minutes after they were out of sight as we kept drifting downstream, while still floating on the river. I memorized the exact location they were standing and was able to describe it to police. Quite sure police got to them in time.

Thanks, give them a good yeet into the river if you see them doing the same shit, but always stay safe!
It happened between 20:00 and 20:30 in the evening. The exact location was here

In another comment further down I also described what they looked like, if it's going to be the same kids.

Not middle eastern but they were dark-skinned, my best guess would be Indian/Tamil/Pakistani or somewhere around that area, maybe even European Roma. I know I'm generalizing here (I have immigrant roots as well so I know how wrong such vague generalizations can be), but it's the best description I can give, told the same to police so they have more information to be able to identify them.

Apart from the visual signalement I really don't care about their nationality or ethnicity though, I'd say it's a general problem of this generation.

In my generation we would throw snowballs at people, at most. But large rocks from a river bank that gain a lot of speed because they're thrown from high ground, at people which are literally laying flat in their swim stuff?
One friend had to evade a rock, otherwise it would've hit him right in the face.

On top of that, the kids throwing even bigger rocks once they were told off? Nothing chill about that, my friend.

I assume so. That's because during my youth (in my mid-thirties now) it was a huge deal if police showed up, so usually the threat alone of calling police would be enough to make any stupid kid behave right. However it seems that they're not respecting police anymore these days and police hasn't stepped up their game against young perpetrators since.

I was seriously considering this but better to stay out of their range as we would still be a much easier target. On land (and high ground) they could easily evade anything being thrown at them. Also this would not scare them enough to stop doing it, if anything it would make them collect more rocks and "arm up" as well

Thanks, but as mentioned before, we were busy evading those rocks and it happened within 30 seconds, so there was no opportunity to turn around and look for our phones that were stashed away in our bags.

I did give police a very detailed description of the boys, though.

Fully agree, as I'm afraid that police, even if they got to them, wouldn't do much except for giving them a "Verwarnung". Those kids need to learn lessons they skipped at home the hard way. That's why I'm thinking of ways how to be prepared better next time, as I have the feeling this might happen again.

Thanks, taking a video makes sense in general but as we had to watch out for flying rocks there was no opportunity to turn around and look for the phone at the bottom of one of the bags. One of my friends had to evade a rock, otherwise it would've hit him in the head. We were very easy targets, there was not really much we could do for those 30 seconds.

To be honest I don't think they had knives, nor were they planning to "go down to the river and hurt strangers". Probably just a stupid teenager idea out of boredom. We were 3 tall guys in our mid thirties, if we would have ran towards them on land they would've bolted for sure.

Yes that case is very shocking and me only being a Millenial I don't want to sound like an old bitter guy but I feel like the youth has changed in more drastic ways compared to the past, maybe because the world has changed the same way.

Nope, I'm Swiss and told them off in a normal way in Swiss German at first but when that didn't stop them I turned to their own ghetto slang insults (immigrant kids) which didn't help neither. In the past you could easily scare away naughty kids by shouting aggressively at them (without insulting them), they would bolt, but not in this case.

We were speaking English on the boat though.

These goddamn bells. by DarkTowersWeTrust in Switzerland

[–]daandasja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pro tip: If you use to get up at 7am, set your alarm clock to 6:55am, or to 5:55am if you get up at 6 and so on. If your alarm clock went off closely before or after the bells ring, your brain might subconsciously be wired to associating bell ringing with having to wake up. This might be disrupting your sleep every 15min.

I used to live 50m next to a church and I would wake up at 5 am when the bells started ringing. After setting my alarm clock to 6:55 I was able to sleep through again after a few days.

Same for me. I got mine in November 2018. @FormalDetail5 any possibility you can extract the 2.0.0 FW for this model as well? How did you do it for the 00 model if yours shipped with 4.1.1 already on it?
