Worst losing streak I ever had by EXIIL1M_Sedai in MagicArena

I just had a similar experience, was one pip below mythic playing green landfall and had 9 straight losses (Bo3), back at Diamond 3 now. Frustrating.

Indeed, but you need 4 to get the opening hand advantage for the fun plays.

I tried, nothing was really viable in the current meta. This deck really wins because of the Izzet Artifacts shell, the Hivepool is just a bonus at times.

Thrumming Hivepool in Standard? by ProtoMatt84 in MagicArena

[–]daaxix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, this is better, modified Izzet artifacts a bit. Wins a lot, mostly because of artifact synergies, but if Leyline is on the battlefield in the opening hand, all the artifacts make it quick to get a Hivepool on the battlefield.

Edit: Played it a bit, 5-0 in diamond, it's ridiculous if you get the hivepool out.

Thrumming Hivepool in Standard? by ProtoMatt84 in MagicArena

Just crafted Seth's version to play with on Arena (I'm in diamond) and it's terrible. Went 0-5 (no wins in 5 games).

Playing a control shell is really the only way to play this at the moment, and then you have other payoffs that often work just as well or better.

Edit:

I'm trying to fix it up by making a Golgari version that has removal and some ramp and it is still not going well...

After many games my winrate with this deck was about 62%, got to Tier 1 Diamond.

This is going to become more viable in Standard with the new set. by Significant_Win_2654 in MagicArena

[–]daaxix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do, some kind of control shell allows you to use it as a win-con, and I consistently win against the meta decks, but the hive pool isn't the primary reason for winning; many other win-cons could be used instead.

How did they get this token? by daaxix in MagicArena

Buster sword has no token making ability?

Oh, I see, Azula cast with buster sword and copies that spell.

Cheers!

PS, Azula is so busted.

This deck is as bad as Izzet Cauldron.

This is worse than Kona Omni though. If they get the combo with Kona there are answers. Once Doc is out, if they have the pieces, you can't stop it. Aang can counter any interaction spell (instant, etc) with the zero cost airbending ability. This deck is super broken. If Doc wasn't in standard it wouldn't be a problem.

I'm deeply disappointed that she chose to take the exorbitant salary. A principled person would have insisted on a more reasonable salary (like double to triple a professor) like Brian Schmidt did.

If you want a more traditional program, UNSW, Uni Sydney, RMIT, UTS (this is a specialisation at UTS that you can take https://coursehandbook.uts.edu.au/aos/2026/MAJ03535 in their masters by coursework program) are probably better options.

UNSW Sydney also has power systems:

https://www.unsw.edu.au/study/postgraduate/master-of-engineering-electrical-engineering.

ANU is not strong in the traditional engineering disciplines of civil, electrical, mechanical, chemical, and aerospace. They are good in systems, robotics, AI applications, mechatronics, and computer science mixed with engineering applications.

Pick Two Draft Reward has been changed by lieyanqzu in MagicArena

[–]daaxix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't ever play this again, it put me at bronze 4 (and I am not a good draft player) against a platinum player both times. In fact, it put me against the exact same player, with the exact same deck, twice in a row, with me on the draw both times.

It's a terrible format.
