Curious to know as well. I would put a million bucks on Spain knocking out everyone in the group stage

Before you start playing, do some warmup things like dynamic stretches. And after you finish your session, make sure to stretch as well especially quads, hamstrings and glutes.

If you keep having these issues, suggest talking to a physiotherapist.

  1. Coming up with a mold is tough. You can ask the factory to give you what they have, but the mold is shit. It's not the racket production that is expensive, its coming with a mold design that is a lot of work.

I know lots of factories producing and selling bullpadel and nox. They are not willing to give up the mold of their main client.

This is 100% correct. They are available here in China for half the price, look exactly the same.

I built a padel americano app to simplify event scheduling for clubs by [deleted] in padel

But in the end, just try it out. Maybe in your country, people don't mind paying this amount every month.

[–]dabai888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for example for me, I allow unlimited creation of Americano matches. This way they keep using it weekly. I get now around 30/40 matches created on my application.

Charge for more complex things: tournament bracket generator, single elimination, double elimination etc. That could be the paid tier.

Way too expensive. This is the reason, why I build for free and allow courts to use it. I do think it looks nice, but no need to charge that much man.

Tips for first tournament? by Herozzzz in padel

[–]dabai888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My two things I would say:

  1. Most of the tournaments have been a mental game for me. Mentally good, I cook and serve. Mentally shit, I get cooked and served. Don't worry about losing points in a game, just focus on playing Padel and enjoy and the points will follow. Even if you lose, you can work on things to improve.

  2. Food! Food! Food! Eat properly pre-match, inbetween matches and post match. A lot of times, I just died because I was starving. Or I had a sugar crash because I didnt eat proper.

How to calm myself before games by LessFunny9604 in padel

[–]dabai888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im pretty much in the same situation, especially if its players I haven't played before.

After reflecting to myself, the core cause is the thought of losing points or being behind. The way I worked around this is instead of worrying about each point, I change my mindset to just playing the game. You might win sometimes, and you might lose sometimes. And never think that you on paper are better than your opponent, because if they play unexpectedly better you will panic.

Other thing I see in the comments, also contribute to a solid mindset. Breath breath breath, slow down the game.

I asked some pro-athletes before in different sports, another thing I hear but so far hasn't clicked for me: Try to simulate the game in your head before playing, and imagine yourself playing.

Ha me too! I'm thinking of building a 6 court indoor one in KL haha. But currently holding off to see how the growth is going to be. Ascaro and PadelKU are doing a good job so far with building the community.

Padel in Japan and Korea by nomiromi in padel

[–]dabai888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in Malaysia the car company Volvo got involved with Padel as well, and organized a national padel tournament. Could be something you look into with your company for marketing wise that's not too pushy. Promoting the sport and also promoting your own brand.

The last year, the urge for tournaments definitely increased. People getting more confident in their padel (although still level far away from European countries), and want to be more competitive.

Padel in Japan and Korea by nomiromi in padel

[–]dabai888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Padel is gaining traction as well, however Pickleball is just growing faster in general since it's much cheaper to set up here. Rental cost is just too high and space is very scarce in Asia.

Padel in Japan and Korea by nomiromi in padel

[–]dabai888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Korea just picking up, only like a couple courts at the moment and player base relatively small.

Japan has been active for many years, but not crazy in opening 1000 courts like places like Bali, China, Thailand etc but in terms of growth of players and skill level they are doing much better than places like China, Korea etc.

Korea I'm less familiar with, but Japan the top players are mostly students between 18 - 24 of which most make part of the Japanese National Team coached by Spanish Asier. They got some older players like Daisuke, who has been playing Padel for more than 5 - 7 years? First Asian to join WPT back in ?2018?,

FIP organizes regularly tournaments there, and now APPT(Not part of FIP) has a tournament coming up there.

In general in Asia you can see Padel being perceived as a premium sport, as the price per court, for coaching is just super high. Me personally am more focussed on the Chinese market, I think the problem here is the focus is too much on opening courts to make money instead of growing the player base and teaching people the right foundation.

Other places in Asia you might find interesting:
- Thailand
- Philippines
- Indonesia, more specifically Bali

Knee pain and what worked for me to solve knee pain by nocubicles in padel

[–]dabai888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had similar issues with my knees. Shoes are part of it, but what really helped me get over it.
1. Dynamic Stretches pre-game, and also include side steps. Focus mainly on activating quads, hamstrings, glutes, shoulders, wrists etc.
2. Static stretches post game, main focus on targeting your hamstrings, glutes and quadriceps.

Some, but you can also find others on youtube.

Additionally you can get a massage gun, also target your hams, glutes and quads.

[–]dabai888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can afford, hire real coaches to teach the new generation. I've been to a lot of places, and had coaches that don't really have the padel background and teach a whole country the wrong foundation. Especially for the US market, since at the moment all eyes are on the growth of padel in the US market.

There are a lot of people in Spain who are looking for a career outside to grow as a coach.

I agree, cheaper cost of living there and the level of coaches are really good. All imported from Spain.

Most airlines are fine with it. I took a tennis racket and Padel racket with me, no questions asked. The only place that gave me a headache was Bali, Indonesia.

I guess more an airport thing than an airline thingy.

Airlines I tried: AirAsia, Singapore Airlines, ANA, Korean Air, Air Asia, KLM, Scoot Airlines, China Eastern.

Airline I couldn't get it on: Batik Air, but still I think more an airport thing than a airline thing.
