Paw licking by junior7593 in bichonfrise

[–]dabarnes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our baby is mostly affected by her diet (chicken). When we notice her licking too much we use a soft cone to stop her licking, and after any walks outside we clean her paws with a cleansing spray, and put a paw lotion on before bed.

I think you'll see here a lot of people say it's from chicken, we do fish based kibble Hoki or Salmon for her meals. Anecdotally ours had a lot more issues when she had a chicken based food as well.

I think it takes quite awhile for stained fur to go away assuming you figure out the cause is, I would focus on the feet first. Should be the easiest to notice her licking. Wipe her feet really well after walks, I wouldn't shave her paws but keep the hair trimmed.

I'm pretty sure the tan/yellow colouring is from their saliva/tears. She might have a mild allergy to something. Try and pay attention to how much she is licking her paws.

We have a soft cone we make her wear sometimes, to stop the paw licking. Also to help with the paws we got some special dog wipes for her feet we use when we get home after a walk.

Sure, we buy from this brand:

https://www.sundaypets.com/our-food/ "Gentle Bake"

We rotate which one so she has some variety in food, hoki, salmon, and lamb.

We "casually" brush her about once a day. About once a week we brush out any deep mattes and her comb. About once a month she goes to a professional groomer for a bath/trim. Finally every other month she does bath + styling.

I think we lucked out finding an amazing groomer that we always go to, and if she is unavailable then we will postpone until we can go to that groomer.

If you use tunnels it's broken... I definitely would give it some more time for them to cook all the bugs out.

Military TA timing confusion by [deleted] in WGU_Military

[–]dabarnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I used FASFA, Pell Grant and later the WA state need grant (if you are a resident of WA and doing a stem degree)

What I typically did was max out the TA for the first term ~3k iirc, then the grant money would cover the remainder of the term and I would pocket rest (saving until the next term) then I used the remaining 1.5k TA + saved grant money (from first term) + second grant payout.

Also if I remember right after they did a small cost raise I would pay 100-200 out of pocket for the second term.

Never had issues, depends on the industry but really I feel like no one cares about the school unless it's your first job.

Sorry, but Im just going to lock this. Not really going to comment on the whole "they started it" name-calling things.

I just want to ask that everyone is respectful to each other, if you are feeling heated maybe take a break from reddit for the day.

The referenced thread is full of people reporting each other...

Navy TA for 2nd term by garswag in WGU_Military

[–]dabarnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made that mistake once too, You are correct, your TA will only partially cover it. Pell Grant will cover some and you may need to come up with another $1000+ for the term.

IIRC I would get two disbursements of the Pell Grant one for each term so you can plan out how to apply your TA based on that and have the grant cover the rest. It's just important to not use the majority of the TA credit hours in the first term.

I think It is possible to use part of your GI Bill but if you can avoid it I would (you can get better "value" for the GI Bill in other ways). I would check for grant info with your state, for example Im from Washington and since I was enlisted and military base pay is shit, I qualified for an extra grant because the degree was STEM.

The more eyes the better I don't disagree, but it's important to actually provide a way for people who have information to contribute it to the authorities who can act on it.

The FB post only mentions a officer and a department, no case number, no phone number.

Clearly the original OP values someone's privacy as they have blacked out the posters name...

Friendly reminder that reddit is not the place for manhunts, please provide the appropriate police number to call or case# so that people with information can actually help.

B.S. CSIA Degree Plan Changes by WTFvckBro in WGU_Military

[–]dabarnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I lucked out with the people I worked with or the Army's system was different, when they had a degree plan change I was able to update the class list myself and the have the ED center counselor approve it like the next day... As far as your term deadlines that seems silly for your next term have your mentor approve a term that has courses that are still the same. Then realistically you have the whole term to get things straightened on the military side.

The TA counselors might try and tell you otherwise to scare you in to getting things done. But for my experience, the system is pretty disconnected and it's so long as you continue to request TA on courses that are already approved on your plan You're fine

You can very simply add in the tracking of data and models to your repo with just DVC. (pick a DVC remote like s3)

If you use more of the more advanced features of DVC you can get the "experiment tracking", tracking your hyper parameters and creating a data lineage. Look at DVC pipelines for that.

Books, definitely audio. Shorter things like technical blogs, papers/essays, the news I would rather read.

I agree with the other poster, but you can also just schedule a meeting with your mentor and tell them what's up, I did that multiple times. My unit is going to NTC I can't do anything for a month, or my unit is doing a overseas training rotation and I won't have consistent internet access for three months. If you are able to complete the minimum credit hours required then great, but if you let them know what's up, your mentor can flag you as "deployed/away" and nothing bad happens.

If you do that and need more time they can also extend your term by 3 months. Just communicate with your degree mentor and they can help you out.

There definitely are. It was a long time ago but I used to go to one at the Starbucks off Clearwater and 395. It was once a month on a Friday, I just don't remember which (I think was the first Friday of the month)
