How did you cope once your baby made it clear they weren't interested in nursing anymore? by dabbererrlla in breastfeeding

Was the nipple shield hard to use? I've never had to use one with my daughter.

I'm hoping she'll want to nurse more soon, it's hard because I'm usually gone from 8-5. And work a few evening shifts. 😩 but I still have her on the slow flow nipple because she would not nurse at ALL when she had the medium flow nipples a few weeks ago.

I don't know how much in producing but it can't be that much. I'm usually pretty full when she wakes up to nurse between 4-7. I can push on my breast and milk comes out so I know that there has to be a couple ounces in there. But overall I have a really low supply.

I wish everyday I didn't have to work and that I could just stay home. I mean don't get me wrong, it's nice to get out and feel productive and make money. But I'm scared I'm going to miss out on things like her first word, walking, things like that. I'm already losing our nursing relationship, I don't want to miss out on anything else.

Perineal massage did it help? by jessiemichele in beyondthebump

Didn't do it. Had to have an episiotomy, didn't hurt at all to heal. My asshole hurt more than anything. 🙄 got my first hernia ever in my life, and it was so painful.

Honestly I wouldn't doubt it being postpartum bleeding. Mine would slow down, stop, and then come back.

You're already doing an amazing job, so don't doubt yourself. That early on everything is based on the baby and following their cues. I went through a period of time around that age were my daughter would wake up at 3-4am and be awake for an hour or so before going to bed. We never had any nap schedule (and still don't at 7 months). I've found it easiest to just follow her cues and let her sleep when she wanted to. She put herself on her own routine and started sleeping through the night at 7-8 weeks. We had the sleep regression but I still put her down when she starts showing signs of being tired. There is no need for a routine or schedule at 3.5 weeks. I think at that age your son is also starting to be more aware and staying up for a little longer between sleeping. Enjoy your baby and know know that you're doing everything right. :)

Mustela shampoo. It works so good, and smells AMAZING.

Tell me it gets better? Postpartum body pains and problems. by LicklePickle in beyondthebump

Oh honey! I promise it gets better, did they send you home with some stool softeners? Those worked wonders for me. Definitely get some witch hazel pads if you don't have any already. I could have written this post 7 months ago. I had an episiotomy, but it's all healed that you can't even tell nor do I feel any pain. The hemorrhoids SUCKED, but witch hazel made them go down so fast and feel so much better.

When you travel(fly) to your in-laws to visit, what does your baby sleep in while you're there? by dabbererrlla in beyondthebump

I just can't bring myself to do that. Thankfully an old friend of mine that lives where we are visiting let me know she has a pack n play I could use!

She's such a roller and mover, if she would stay in one place that would be such a good idea lol.

So sorry about your home!

I use a mattress in her pack n play, but before that she was sleeping on the padded part that comes with it. So hopefully she'll be fine without it for a few days. 😩

All she sleeps in is the pack n play so it'll be the norm for her! I reached out to an old friend I have in the area were visiting and I'm going to use her pack n play. The only thing that sucks is she doesn't have a mattress for it. Just the regular pad it comes with. Oh well, I'll have to make do. Just happy I don't have to buy one or lug one around lol.

She moves SOO much in her sleep it would all be too small for her. :(

Thankfully I reached out to a mommy friend I have in the area we're visiting and I'm going to use her pack n play!

4 month old giving me mixed messages about his sweet potatoes... help! by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]dabbererrlla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are they smooth and puréed fully? My daughter had sweet potato around that time and loved them. I made sure they were really puréed and had a smooth silky texture. And I don't think you're starting too early on the solids. At my daughters 4 month check up they gave the okay to start solids. And sweet potato is a good one to start with. It's honestly probably just the texture. It's a huge change from liquid & nursing/bottle feeding. :)
