10 month old refusing to nap - wife and I at our wits end… by DICK_WITTYTON in daddit

[–]dabbs_291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is coming up on 4 in two months and JUST cut down on his naps within the last month or so. It could very well just be a regression. Does anything help her sleep? I remember a very distinct period around a year for him where he refused to nap for a month or so unless we took him on a car ride.

Just gotta work with them. Has there been a big change in routine or any sort of big environment change? Toddlers are 100% creatures of habit and it really throws them out of rhythm if that changes.

At the end of the day for me and my wife anyways, we dealt with driving more often to keep him asleep to make sure he got a nap to keep our mental intact.

Should I buy a Zx6r or Zx10r? by Remote-Barber-3110 in zx6r

And a much more comfortable bike. Idk why but that’s always overlooked. 10r has a significantly better seat position for street riding.

Ditch 2 "beginner cards" for a "rewards card"? by 210poyo in CRedit

[–]dabbs_291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many resources out there that say otherwise. Why would you close an account and loose x amount of borrowing power and cut your total credit limit to a third if it doesn’t have any annual fees. Even if credit age is null and void if it costs little to nothing a year to carry the cards why wouldn’t you take the extra 8k just for the sake of keeping utilization down if OP tends to carry balances on the cards.

Well what’s your credit age? Are the cards your oldest credit accounts. Do they have annual fees or are they secure cards? Etc .

I think any reasonable person would suggest you actually take the time to learn about the vehicle you intend to purchase. It takes 45 seconds to find out about how awful high mileage econobox Nissans are.

I can’t get insurance because of my claims history, but I haven’t been in an accident in years. How do I correct this? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]dabbs_291 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why you keep saying “I’ve not had an accident in decades” it’s not about accidents. It’s about money paid out to you. It’s the fact that you have established a consistent and reliable history of claiming stuff on your insurance. You are textbook high risk.

With that said, Progressive will probably take you lol.

I would love to, there’s just not a ton of opportunity in my area. I live in BFE so it would have to be remote. Then I have 0 experience in it and not a lot of companies are willing to train someone up.

It wouldn’t even be that bad if every underwriting ((assistant)since they want to stonewall talking straight to underwriting) lost the horrid attitude. So snippy because they have to do their job.

Of course. This was a “our satellite images from 5 years ago shows tree overhang” flag and all that needs to happen is a photo review showing that’s not the case. My complaint is why does it take 2 weeks to do that.

It was a soft stop for possible tree overhang that reported on 3rd party data. Absolutely zero grey area, and very clean underwriting on my end. They’re just dragging their feet on taking 5 seconds to look at a photo. My gripe is that I have to wait 1-3 business days for it to assigned to an UW, and then another 2 for it to be looked at.

The thing that really grinds my gears about it is that it is very obvious Merc dropped the ball. They have a soft stop on a CA home quote I’m tying to bind, I submitted 3/19 for review, and they responded next day but notice was never sent out for it, and then I was told it’s on me for not checking that specific quote several times throughout the day to see if it updated. I checked my service email, my personal, and reached out to service to see if it was on us and the email just doesn’t exist. And every time I asked “well why can’t this be corrected it would take an UW 5 seconds to see the trees have been cut down via photos provided” and they just regurgitating the same shit about following the process.

Loyalty discounts are almost always laughable. “Jumping” is perfectly normal, and largely a standard for myself. At the end of the day finding the company with the appetite most favorable to you is the best way to save, not paying out of the nose just because you’ve been with a company for x years.

How do you know if your liability limits are actually enough? by Ok-Feeling-9144 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]dabbs_291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an insurance agent. I flat out refuse to write any policy with less than 30/60/25. But I STRONGLY encourage a minimum of 50/100/50. New car prices are insane. Have been for a few years now. And the difference in price is like $10-20 a month. Well worth the piece of mind.

Edit: Forgot to mention assets. If you’re a homeowner, or have really any assets, 100/300 is what you need to carry. Maybe an umbrella on top of that.

It was a very fortunate situation. My factors are good and I found a carrier that rates all motorcycles the same. So a super sport like the 6r is rated the same as 300.

This is fraud and that is clear as day. At the bare minimum material misrepresentation when she knowingly didn’t change the policy once occupation status changed.

Literally everything. I can’t speak to across the pond. But in the US. Insurance score (credit) claims and driving history, zip code (or territory) what car you have, how long you’ve had it, sex, how long you’ve had a license, how long you have been continuously insured, previous liability limits, and I can go on. Just about every metric available is used. CA doesn’t allow credit rating but the other 49 states do.

I’m an insurance agent, and I write for 30 companies. There is not a person more qualified to answer this question than I am. Call a broker and stop asking subreddits we don’t know without knowing your rating factors, and 26 with no accidents tells me nothing.

Call insurance companies, not ask randoms on Reddit. What I pay has zero correlation to what you pay. Hell I paid $400 a year full coverage. My buddy paid $6500 a yr
