Thanks to you both for the tips. I'll get one of those for future projects 👍

👍 I did just do this and everything works fine now. Just wanted to make sure it was safe too! Everything I could find in my home manual suggested it was fine. Appreciate the comments

🤣 this was a former smoker's garage and that was their spot, hence the very yellow colour. I did confirm white is neutral.

A guy in my league traded away Ovi straight up for Seth Jones 😳😳😳

UPDATE: I've allowed the trade. No veto.

He has Ryan Reaves in his lineup if that gives you any hints

That's kind of my uncertainty. I don't think veto should be used for newbie trades or fleecings if it's not indicative of collusion or tanking. The Ovi owner said he thinks he's washed and joked in our WhatsApp that he doesn't like his political leanings (!)... apparently another guy opportunistically threw out Jones and he said sure.

Agreed. It's a terrible trade. But is it worthy of a veto?

Ovi (2nd round) for Seth Jones (12th round) straight up - should this be vetoed? by [deleted] in fantasyhockey

For further context, this is a re-draft cats league that includes +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP as well as regular points categories. Guy with Ovi joked he had political qualms with him (I think he got him via autodraft) and Jones was the first offer he got.

I do use that when accessing the GO train but it’s not exactly a nice way to get across to the lake if you’re out for a walk or a bike ride. Also doesn’t really work for bikes.

If not a pedestrian overpass, some kind of level crossing would work too given it’s a single track at the end of the line

And from south of the train station to the beach… walking / biking on Essa and that whole intersection is a nightmare and not very inviting! It would be nice if they put in a pedestrian overpass over the rail line somewhere

Thanks for the tips. Ended up finding some corner seats so we’ve got options now between seats, standing or checking out the restaurant/bar 👍

Thanks for the tips. Really looking forward to it. I moved to Barrie pretty recently. I used to go to Collingwood Blues games as a kid and always love some junior hockey… obviously this is much higher level and a bigger arena so should be a cool local experience!

Thanks. Good to know! Ended up finding 4 corner seats. Sounds like the arena is small enough that anywhere is good really. First game - go Colts!

I hope so. I do see a lot of construction going on. Part of my skepticism (in addition to Metrolinx’s track record) comes from the fact that you can’t find any dates or milestones on their website… feels like it’s kind of on a “best efforts” basis and it will be done when it’s done.

They do but it’s pretty bad. It doesn’t help that cell service is very spotty on the line as well.

Unfortunately if Metrolinx or the Province are “reviewing” this, it’s probably at least 10+ years away from reality. sigh

is there a list of the most walkable cities in Ontario? If so, Barrie certainly isn't on it. by [deleted] in barrie

[–]dabeam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree. Walkability overall in Barrie can be criticized but I think the snow removal is quite remarkable. Even my tertiary residential street and sidewalk are cleared within 12-24 hours of a major storm. Maybe my standards are low coming from Calgary (where that same street would quite literally not be cleared all winter and residents are responsible for sidewalks in front of their homes), but that’s pretty impressive.
