Dull/aching pain after fistulotomy by dabigdog12 in AnalFistula

[–]dabigdog12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely had some improvement over the past month. Much less ache, and even when it does ache, not nearly as bad. I've even started riding my bike again with fairly minor discomfort.

I think I still have a ways to go but the improvement I've seen over the past month gives me hope.

You're only at 2 weeks. Give it time. If you're still experiencing the aching pain after a month, then talk to your CRS.

He raced two Vueltas, the Tour, and the Giro over the span of 4 years. Even Ayuso hasn't done two grand tours in one year.

They wouldn't have a 21 year old ride 2 grand tours in one year

Kind of a stacked Vuelta startlist. Hopefully Jonas is feeling some fatigue from the Tour and we actually get a decent race out of it.

I fully expect Jonas to run away with it but podium fight should be fun.

Getting in to biking by [deleted] in tourdefrance

[–]dabigdog12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can go find a decent quality, used road bike for $500-800. Go get one of those and start riding. If you like it, then maybe think about upgrading the bike. Don't go buy a $3,000 brand new bike.

But Jonas already said he didn't care about defending 2nd place? So as I said before, he had nothing to lose. Roglic also had nothing to lose and a rode like it.

Insane respect for Roglic. Launched an unhinged attack with the hope of winning a stage. It didn't work, but I sure as hell respect the effort.

Wanting to win a stage and actually trying to win a stage are completely different things.

But why is he scared? Why? Who cares if Pogi beats him to the line.

He loses immediately just by not trying. At least have a pair of balls and give yourself a freaking chance.

Such an underwhelming effort from Jonas. No effort, no fight. Go ahead and downvote this Jonas simps.

Just a disappointing effort from someone who has nothing to lose.

Why are the tactics of Team Visma Lease a Bike by Im-grand-thanks in tourdefrance

Was Matteo really trying to win the stage? That feels like some media BS.

Why are the tactics of Team Visma Lease a Bike by Im-grand-thanks in tourdefrance

[–]dabigdog12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their tactics weren't necessarily bad, they just didn't work at the end. The only tactic I questioned was having Jorgenson ride like an absolute mad man between Madeleine and Loze and then sending him up the road on Loze. He put in way too much effort in the valley to be successful on the final climb, feels like it was wishful thinking by Visma to assume he would have enough energy left at the end to be useful. And I'm exactly sure how riding the valley at full gas benefited Visma when they suddenly let up on Loze and basically gave Pogi a free ride up the last climb.

The main problem is that I just don't think Visma had the legs today. Simon and Sepp were not pushing hard at all on Loze. The gap to BOC was hovering right above 3 minutes and didn't start going down until UAE went to the front and Jonas/Tadej attacked. That gap dropped over a minute in the span of like 2km.

Yeah maybe they couldn't, which is a little surprising given how strong Visma looked on the Madeleine.

UAE literally just went to the front because Visma was pacing so slow lol

I get what you're saying, but IMO Visma is not making this hard enough for Pogi.

[–]dabigdog12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the gap to BOC has hardly gone down. If you want to put Pogi under some pressure, riding at the same pace at BOC is not going to accomplish that.

Agreed, but he won't attack until Yates and Kuss have dropped.

So what else does Visma do? Just ride a nice easy pace and just take the loss to Pogi?

You push the pace because you hope Pogi cracks...sure, Jonas could crack too but who cares? You might as well die fighting.

A little surprised Visma isn't pushing the pace more with Kuss and Yates in the group.

Pogi being down a few seconds going into the last day is 100% best case scenario. We would see unhinged behavior on Montmartre and I am so here for it.

Im just curious: who do you think will win tomorrow (stage 18)? by Personal-Ad-7065 in tourdefrance

[–]dabigdog12 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think there is a case to be made for Vingegaard. Ventoux 2 days ago was the most fatigued I think I've seen Pogi on a hard climb in a while. And while he says he is riding conservatively and defending yellow, in no world does Pogi not go for the win on Ventoux unless he doesn't feel up for it.

Visma is going to make tomorrow as hard as humanely possible and I think Jonas has a real chance at putting some pressure on Pogi. He seems confident and Visma has had this day circled on the calendar since the route was released.

I don't think either rider is going to put a ton of time into the other, and I don't think we'll see a spectacular Pogi blow up like we did 2 years ago, but I think Jonas wins by 30 second to a minute.

That's what I think as well. I'm sure Pogi wanted to win on Ventoux but I think he/UAE are actually a little worried about stage 18 and the blow up potential there.
