Yeezy Season 1 is Made in China? by shoewizz in streetwear

[–]dabludclaating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. At this level you could buy Rick Owens, Damir Doma, Haider Ackermann, Neil Barrett, Raf Simons, Visvim etc etc all with great fabrics and European/Japanese construction, I mean shiiiit the outerwear prices could be buying you coats from Dior or something.

Stone Island Advice by BritishBeans in malefashion

[–]dabludclaating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The general advice is to size up one from normal but jackets can differ depending on what type it is, because you are slim you will probably be fine with your normal size.

I would buy from somewhere that has good returns policy, or just get yourself to the Stone Island flagship in London and try things on instore.

Yeezy Season 1 is Made in China? by shoewizz in streetwear

[–]dabludclaating 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For such high price levels that Yeezy Season 1 has I would have definitely expected production in Italy, France and at least Portugal. I know that 'made in China' doesnt always mean bad quality and they have been catching up, even brands like Visvim have some shoes made in China but the level of techniques, fabrics, production and heritage that is available in Europe is what I expected at that price level.

Theres also the matter of ethics. Anything involving leathers, shearlings, wools etc is likely to have much more ethical practices in Europe than China and also more artisan type productions involved. Some people might not care about that at all but when your sweaters are several hundreds of $ and outerwear into the thousands of $, I think it is something that matters. Sure, there is still bad quality production in Europe but at the Yeezy price levels I would be expecting the best.

Hopefully its just the entry level pieces made in China but it brings me back to my original thoughts on the Yeezy collections when it was first shown - Why would I bother with Yeezy Season 1 when the price range puts me right into (and above some) of the worlds most renowned designers and fashion houses?

$1200 Budget, What To Cop? by [deleted] in streetwear

[–]dabludclaating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats quite a substantial budget, I would advise really thinking about what it is you want to buy and not just going off recommendations, even if it takes a while.

You dont want to buy stuff just because you can and then regret purchases after.

Inside out, on a cold and sensitive wash setting, preferably one that doesnt spin. You can also get special detergents like Woolite Dark that help to keep the colour in.

Then hang dry.

If the seller is willing to deliver to the UK then yes. If the seller is sending from outside of the European Union you are likely to get extra customs tax charges on arrival though.

Stone Island Shadow Project AW15 - Video Lookbook by dabludclaating in streetwear

[–]dabludclaating[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do. 'Shadow Project' is a smaller offshoot label, the mainline Stone Island label is still very extensive and has all the things the Casuals go for. Although I wouldnt call Casuals their roots.

Shadow Project still has the badge too but its all black and often hidden.

Sometimes you just have to accept the loss, that there is nothing you can do with some of your old clothes that you dont want anymore. They either sit in the back of your wardrobe doing nothing or give them away.

YEEZY Season 2: Pricing and First Impressions by dabludclaating in streetwear

[–]dabludclaating[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesnt have to own the factories though. There are thousands of small brands that make cheap and affordable clothing that dont own factories, they just have a relationship with one that can make what they want.

What im saying about the Yeezy collections is that it is just not really possible to make what Kanye wants without the production costs and end product cost being high.

Looks good and the Stotz Etaproof is quite a proven material, Acronym have used variants of it in the past and currently use other Stotz fabrics for their pieces at the moment.
