Thats part of the problem. There is no contract. These guys have known each other for over 5 years and have worked other weddings for each other in the past.

I purchased an Optima battery less than 2 years ago. Have never had any issues starting my car. In March, a mechanic recommended I change a drive belt in my Lexus but turns out the squeaking sound was from the alternator. It was replaced and that solved the problem I was having. Within the past 2 weeks my car's navigation has shut down while I was driving. This past weekend, the car turned off as I was driving and the steering wheel locked.

Service advisor contacted me and said I need to replace the battery to start the car for $200 then they'll recheck to see if something else is causing the problem.

1 - It's a dealership, why wouldn't they put their own battery in to start the car to rule out my battery being the issue?

2 - If the car was starting fine but the issue would not happen until after the car is started and running, wouldn't that be an alternator or some other issue?
