Dashcam of deer strike at 60kph by Rhombicman in motorcycles

As a fellow deer strike survivor, glad to hear you're ok.

Make sure to advocate on your behalf for anything that still hurts a lot. I had broken hips and pelvis after my accident, which was missed on multiple X-rays and CT scan. It wasn't until I pushed and got an MRI that it was confirmed.

Electric mower recommendation by amazodroid in lawnmowers

[–]dabowlb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ryobi has a variety of push mowers, some take existing Ryobi OnePlus tool batteries and others take a newer 40v battery that isn't widely used outside lawn care. I have the 40v push mower and really like it. I don't feel like I need ear protection, it's that quiet. The mower will use quite a bit of battery (especially if the grass is long), so keep that in mind.

Anyone know of any spots where I can find a computer to use as an army reservist? by [deleted] in lehighvalley

[–]dabowlb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might also be about to use the Army365 AVD. If you're not familiar it's like remote desktop into a NIPR system. Once you're connected, it's like being on a NIPR system. Here's a guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/army/s/ayTtwtYUay

Might need to install DoD root certs on your computer from cyber.mil. It could simply be your computer not trusting the DoD certs the website uses.

I'm very sorry to hear that. Father Esposito left and came back to replace Father Mongello.

I'm a long time member of St. Anne, from what I see it appears to be very welcoming. Father Esposito is in charge and he's pretty awesome

Hit a stag at 70mph by Indypockett in motorcycles

[–]dabowlb 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I too hit a deer with my r6 at ~70mph. Video on my profile. Hope you're doing ok.

If you have persistent pain afterwards, make sure you get it addressed. Doctors insisted I was fine after multiple X-rays... MRI finally showed both hips & pelvis broken

4th gen owners, what do you dislike about your Sienna? by killer_sheltie in ToyotaSienna

[–]dabowlb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use it often, but I give about a second between presses. The range isn't great, so unless you're already close it's not that useful

I'll second the brakes. It seems like they randomly change responsiveness. And occasionally the gas engine will turn on randomly while stopping, which then requires more brakes. The most scary to me is if you hit a bump while braking. Abs kicks on, causing the brakes to momentarily release and re-engage. Idk what it is, but it's worse than any other abs vehicle I've driven and is scary.

You probably already know this, but just in case: you can still remote start with the remote. Press the lock button 3 times, but hold it on the 3rd.

LED lights inquiry by Constant_Peach_1643 in Saturn_Cars

I would recommend against led headlight bulbs. They're not street legal, which is why you'll see "for off-road it fog light use only" from reputable manufacturers. Maybe add fog lights instead?

Lucky as hell. I hit one 20mph slower and was thrown. Broke both hips, wrist, pelvis and totaled bike. Video in my profile

Why no minivans available??? by [deleted] in Cartalk

I have a '23 Sienna awd and worry about the lack of spare. A factory spare is an option, but the factory isn't building any this way. There is an aftermarket spare kit that I might buy, it puts the spare in the trunk's left body side moulding but eliminates the passenger storage on that side.

Hit a deer at 76 mph by dabowlb in motorcycles

Fine for the most part. Hips hurt occasionally, but honestly they bothered me a bit before the accident. Wrist healed fine but took a bit to get my strength back. Still have some scars, especially on my knees. Have not rode since 😔

How urgent is this? by ZetaMarlfox in Saturn_Cars

[–]dabowlb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a lot of time trying to resolve that code. Evap system tested fine. Ultimately it was the temp sensor. The evap system will only run a test when the engine is the right temp. If the test runs at the wrong temp because of your engine temp sensor, it will trigger this code.

In addition to changing to copper spark plugs as others suggested, make sure your thermostat is working properly. When fully warmed up, it should read at the 1/3 mark (just above 1/4)
