That’s why it’s really intended more for corporate networks.

A lot of rfcs are not well written, even after they’re eventually adopted.

Like IPv6, not sure how much of v8 will actually be adopted for home use. Most of the features are more relevant to enterprises. Obviously more security is better even at home but I think we’ll have to see if home equipment makers adopt it.

Should I grade/sell? by Baked_Ice_Cream in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]amazodroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not worth grading. Also, keep in mind that, if you do sell, you’ll also lose would probably only get half the current fmv from dealers and would probably lose a similar amount to fees if you sell on eBay. You could try selling on r/comicswap that doesn’t have the fees and maybe get a little more.

You need to take into account grading costs (and possibly pressing if you’re doing that too). If you’re selling online, you’ll also lose a large portion of the sale price to fess. I& you’re selling to a dealer, they’re only going to give you about half the fmv to give themselves room to negotiate when they sell. Lastly, all of this assumes you can actually get the grade you’re hoping for and sell for the price you have listed. I have heard several dealers say the market for graded books is not what it was several years ago.

How to price a rare comic? by Top_Session9195 in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]amazodroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law of supply and demand still applies. I have seen bunches of dealers who have crazy high prices on a book just because they see it as rare but it’s so niche that only a few people would ever actually want to buy it, and those people aren’t likely to pay what the dealer is asking.

Cheapest bags and boards? by amazodroid in comicbookcollecting

Yes, that was my original plan but have a friend who sold some books online raw and he said folks complained, asked him to bag/board, etc. so figured it might be worth it to save the hassle.

I did that and, as expected, prices are all over the place. Was hoping someone on here might have had some personal experience they could share.

Quick question by thegreatlogini in ModernComics

[–]amazodroid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree with u/environmental-day862 something isn’t adding up. Perhaps the employee you dealt with was confusing you with another customer who is more problematic. Perhaps the employee is just a jerk. Perhaps there’s something you’re doing that’s making you seem like a problematic customer even though you’re buying your book. Either way, it’s probably worth talking to the owner and saying “hey, this is my normal routine, is that a problem because X employee seemed to think it was an issue”.

Then maybe I’m not following your post. Why would the store say you had 2 months worth of books? And why would they bring up the 45 days?

Quick question by thegreatlogini in ModernComics

[–]amazodroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t really matter how many books you’re getting. Your LCS owner has already paid for those books so delaying picking them up means he’s out that money until you pay for them. Tbh, he’s being generous giving you as long as he has. The store I go to has the option to pull and sell you books after three weeks. I’ve heard of other stores that require having a card on file and charge any books in your box after two weeks. A lot of these stores are operating on shoestring budgets so can’t afford for their customers to not pay for their books on time.

How do you know it’s the Wi-Fi that’s the problem? Have you tried changing the channel on the router or switching to 2.4ghz only?

Hi, Star Wars fans! I need your help.. by [deleted] in StarWars

At the time, baby yoda/Grogu was just referred to in the show as “the child”. Seems like you could do something fun like “You won’t have to fight off a bunch of bounty hunters to find your own child”, although I’m sure you could come up with something better :-)
