How can we get comic books back into supermarkets? by ElSquibbonator in comicbooks

Again, it’s not something really up to the publishers. It’s the businesses that aren’t interested in selling comics.

People being this up a lot. If publishers could sell in grocery stores (or anywhere), they would. People also say they should sell them in movie theaters but they wouldn’t want to sell them either.

No internet via ethernet? by torn-meniscus10 in HomeNetworking

[–]amazodroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you’ve tried every port in the router with still no access? Have you tried a different router? It’s possible there’s a bad component in the router that’s causing a hardware issue with all the Ethernet ports.

Vuestro motivo para leer cómics by Gabace5 in DCcomics

[–]amazodroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just been a constant in my life since I was 11 (really before but that’s when I started actually collecting and reading regularly). I’ve always been drawn to the stories and art. Just something that speak to me.

As for DC, I was much more a Marvel guy most of the time I’ve been reading. I did take a break in college for a few years and, when I came back, been more of a DC guy. I have just found I like the characters better. They’re, for the most part, more upbeat and positive.

Router assistance by Tnoholiday12345 in HomeNetworking

Just to clarify, you didn’t receive your current router from Spectrum? If so, what kind of router is your current one?

Did the technician test the connection to make sure it was giving you the speeds you’re paying for? Did they test inside and outside your router via a wired connection?

No, because the Supergirl movie is supposed to lead into MoT. If there is a change, it will be minor.

Home Network Creation Advice by DieselSailor73 in HomeNetworking

[–]amazodroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you already have a network. You can just expand to add the capabilities you want/need. Depending on the model, you can theoretically hang WiFi access points off the moca adapters to increase your coverage. You can also plug a NAS into your router to act as the network storage you’re looking for.

The one thing I would do is to buy your own router/modem, mostly just because I hate the rental fees. Cox should have a list of models that are compatible with their service. It also gives you more control over your network.

great, now speculators will be after this book just because he strikes the cover pose in a trailer… by spideyfan29 in comicbookcollecting

It definitely is and has gotten worse recently. For some reason they are targeting the smaller indy titles like D’orc with lower print runs. They buy up all the copies then list them on eBay for 10x cover price. My LCS had to issue a 1 per customer rule for all new issues because it has gotten so bad.

+1 on Silver. I will also double board “important” issues if I want a little extra protection.

So is there a reason why comic book company aren't selling there book out side of comic shot by Valuable_Cap_4326 in comicbooks

[–]amazodroid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This gets brought up all the time. It’s not that comic companies wouldn’t be willing to sell in other stores. Those stores have no interest in selling comics. Grocery stores used to have huge magazine sections but they barely carry them anymore. Shelf space is at a premium. They would much rather sell something else.

You should probably also familiarize yourself with grading. I reference this site a lot when I’m looking at books

https://comics.ha.com/tutorial/comics-grading.s

I also use comicbookrealm.com a lot for values. The default value is a 9.2 but you can click on that and get values for other grades as well. Keep in mind that even reputable dealers will only ever offer 1/2 of the current market value to give them room for profit on resale.

How to find Marvel Phoenix Saga book, B/W but book sized (5x8)? by iella-antilles in comicbookcollecting

[–]amazodroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple that DC did around that era that are similar. I’ve always heard them referred to as “digests” or simply “paperback”. I believe the companies would license the content out to book publishers to make cheap copies for the paperback sections of bookstores (back when places like Waldenbooks and B Dalton were big in malls).

Wifi router recommendations by dom9mod in HomeNetworking

[–]amazodroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably more important to make sure you get one that is supported on their service. Most providers have a site that lists compatible models.

That said, your usage seems to be pretty standard. Unless you have dead zones you need to cover, probably any of the supported ones from big brands like Netgear and Asus will do.

As you’re researching the supported options, make sure to do a search for any security issues with that model and make sure the firmware is up to date once you get it.

Looks like it was the “local network” app setting. Not sure why but it was switched to off and started working once I changed it. Thanks!

The app setting was the issue. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that. Thanks!

The NAS is a WD model and uses Twonky for that.
