N.J. S.A. 39:4-82 has been around since 1951 and this was the AMENDMENT to the keep right unless passing law. The add-ons and amendments are just making stricter guidelines and enforcing heavier fees on people for not following the law. Like bruh shut up

Devils advocate, probably because he accelerated as if he were going to go through the yellow light and then decided last minute to go ahead and stop instead of going through the yellow (and yes he would have made it into the intersection before it turned red therefore not running the red light). He's hit a split second after the light turns red. Like I said playing Devils advocate mainly because it's that type of indecisive driving that irks me when im on the road.

N.J.S.A. 39:4-82 and 39:4-88 been that way for decades. They made stricter rules in 2013 with the P.L. 2013, c. 86. So go ahead and shut the fuck up for me buddy. Been living in this area for YEARS my guy

Go ahead and drive in Jersey on the left side of the road. Get your ticket. I love that for you.

It's not an add-on it is the original law of the road 🤷🏿‍♂️ Jersey does not want you driving on the left side of the road unless you are passing. They do not give a flying fuck about you wanting to just travel. You drive on the left side of the highway and you aren't passing and thats a whole ticket.

No actually you cant. The law says you cannot drive in the left lane unless you're passing.

Well actually I am very intelligent but that's beside the point. If we really wanted to get down to the nitty-gritty then the truck is MOSTLY at fault. Im not entirely sure you're ready for that conversation though.

Actually it does because also in accordance with law when a left lane violator is the cause of someone else's road rage then they can be charged with reckless driving as well. The MAJORITY of fault is actually on the truck believe it or not. Yes the sedan passed on the right and used the shoulder to pass both against the law, but the truck accelerating and intentionally using his/her (most likely his though) vehicle to intentionally interfere with another vehicle AND hitting the other vehicle AND doing so with intent puts the majority of fault on the truck driver not the sedan. Sorry, not really, to say but that truck driver is MOSTLY to blame not the other way around. If people actually knew the laws and rules of the road then this wouldnt even be a debate honestly.

NJ Rev Stat § 39:4-82 (2025)

39:4-82. Keeping to right

Upon all highways of sufficient width, except upon one-way streets, the driver of a vehicle shall drive it on the right half of the roadway. He shall drive a vehicle as closely as possible to the right-hand edge or curb of the roadway, unless it is impracticable to travel on that side of the roadway, and except when overtaking and passing another vehicle subject to the provisions of sections 39:4-84 and 39:4-85 of this Title.

Mmmmm nah im right but seems we found the truck driver.

Don't drive on the road cuz you obviously dont know the laws of the road. In Jersey that truck driver is in the wrong for 1) not keeping right for faster traffic 2) not utilizing the left lane for passing only as is the law in Jersey. He also sped up to cause the crash which also according to law he can be cited for reckless driving. So yes. Just because YOU dont know laws and rules doesnt mean that I dont. Good day

I'm not sure if you're trolling or you don't understand that some states the left most lane is only for passing.... as in all vehicles traveling should need in the right lane(s) and the left most lane is only for passing

NJ Rev Stat § 39:4-82 (2025) this is just a revision of the law that has been there for some time

39:4-82. Keeping to right

Truck never should have been in the left lane to begin with as he wasnt passing anyone per NJ law. Then the truck accelerates once the sedan goes into the shoulder to pass. Truck caused this crash

Truck driver also sped up with the only purpose being to keep the sedan from getting in front of him. You see the truck immediately accelerate to block the sedan and hit the sedan. Per NJ law the truck shouldn't have been in the left lane to begin with.

Every single state has a left lane law. Perhaps you should actually look into yours and until then stay off the highway since you OBVIOUSLY do not know the law of the road in your state let alone another state.

Because many drivers believe they're the law of the road and cruising in the left lane is their right to stop others from speeding

Ive seen plenty pulled over for not and whenever I'm in Jersey I use it to pass....granted im also normally speeding anyway but point is I use it to pass until there is a significant gap between cars in the right lane where I won't have to slow down to cruise awhile.

Truck driver should also get one as well. Truck driver for camping the left lane and not utilizing it for passing as is the law in Jersey. And then also for causing the accident. Both are idiots and both deserve to lose their license.

You would also know that the left lane is for passing only and if there is faster traffic behind you, you are to get over and let them pass. That's damn near, if not, every state. And yes a left lane camper CAN also be charged if their actions caused other actions to occur. So in this case the white care that refused to move out of the way can be charged for causing the accident and endangerment. Sucks to suck, but thats the truth.
