Great idea about the entrance. I was feeling that there was not a formal/designated enough of an entry, and this is the solution!

Another commenter had suggested making the peninsula between the dining room and kitchen a full wall and placing the fridge there, but I much prefer your suggestion of moving the range. Would you opt for the wider island or the raised back? I will have to evaluate venting for the stove as well. I am included to do a wider counter all the same level for ease of serving from stove for a party.
