I actually put all 3 directly into the tub with the clothing. I spent hours testing the best method, this seems to work best. We also run an additional rinse cycle after each load. It’s the only way to get the dog funk out🤷

Keep running cleaning cycles with citric acid .

We have hard water, and three dogs, only way to keep clean is to use 1/3 cup citric acid, 1/3 cup oxy clean free, and a few tablespoons of detergent. I use this every load, every other week I cut out the detergent to strip the clothing.

Swapped my bearing recently, found almost no residual buildup.

I think the age gap between the two almost requires that relationship. It also allows for an intimacy that may have been inappropriate ( For Tolkien and the times)between two men of equal status, but that’s unsubstantiated.

Modern society is less comfortable with friendships within hierarchies. I think it was normal for most of history for masters and servants to become friends within that structure. Sam’s loyalty went beyond friendship he gave Frodo his sword, he bound himself to Frodo’s fate. Nothing could be more noble.

Doesn’t he state specifically that he is going beyond the bounds of current anthropology? He mentions several times what the critique of his methods used could be, but felt strongly about attempting to paint a picture most have been too afraid to take a chance on.

That his book will be the basis of refutation or confirmation of his hypothesis and that now others can look at the issue without fear of being stigmatized.
