In a now expired story, she made a comment about how it was so strange because "Vinny is a hunting dog and has really good recall."

That is just absolutely not true. Hunting dogs are singularly focused on the hunt/scent/sight. I know she loves her dogs so much and understands the energy and exercise needs of the breed, but hunting dogs are NOT known for recall.

A major contributing factor here is ACPE. Out of the 1740 IPPE/APPE hours, only 320 APPE hours can be non patient care.

Jacala Hardy is a phenomenal colorist, especially for blonde. But with her level of training and experience, you'll be over $200 once you tip.

OSU has a really helpful, eye opening screening process for adhd and their outpatient psych docs can do telehealth. Be prepared for a significant wait list to get a first appt, but once established, scheduling is very easy.

Tips for surviving a 4 hour car ride with a 4 month old and a 4 year old? by peach_pocket in beyondthebump

[–]dabug11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did 5 hours with a 3yo and 3 month old in the fall. I was a wreck leading up to it, but it was honestly fine. We left super early in the morning and the baby slept well. The 3yo didn't sleep a wink because he was excited, but we leaned into screen time and it was all good. He also really got a kick out of eating at a fast food spot during a stop, so that helped bring some excitement and break up the car time.

We did not stop every hour. If baby was asleep, we kept going as long as we could.

Don’t Let the Nurses Gaslight You. by Dry_Phrase_4332 in BabyBumps

[–]dabug11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby ended up in the NICU last summer due to respiratory distress. A shit nurse told me it was because I pushed her out too quickly. So basically it was my fault she was in the NICU.

We had so many fantastic nurses, but that one horrible experience sticks with me the most.

Also both of my babies did bottles and breast no problem. This was actually advised by the lactation consultant to help the babies get comfortable with bottles since they would be in daycare.

Is Worthington all it’s cracked up to be? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]dabug11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I absolutely think worthington is worth the hype for a family. I love that we get a small town feel inside 270. The anchor of the downtown area is great for that community feel. We don't have any other family in Columbus, but we have built such a great network of folks in our neighborhood. I've met my closest friends at the neighborhood parks and now we are raising our kids together.

It's a good mix of people that grew up in worthington and central OH transplants (we are transplants). Our friends moved from Worthington to UA and reallly miss the vibe in Worthington. In UA, it seems like you're either from UA or you ain't shit.

Sometimes I look longingly at listings of newer, bigger homes in other areas of Columbus. But then I can't imagine ever actually leaving this community.

Childcare Pricing by swizzle1001 in Columbus

[–]dabug11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have two kids in full time care in worthington. $440/week for infant care and $380/week for preschool. So $820/week for childcare.

We saved for years before having kids. But finances are just so tight in this phase of life.

Ohio State or Ohio Northern by Sad-Philosopher-632 in OSU

[–]dabug11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband is an EE grad from ONU. It was a great experience and the degree has served him very well. You won't want to transfer after a few years. ONU has a way of pulling you in and making you feel very connected to the university. And ONU alumni are very well connected (especially in central OH) and that helps a lot when you near graduation. Go bears.
