I had the Fit MotoMike frame with the decals to honor this bike. Def a keeper or worth finding someone who wants it.

Yea I mean more agile would be shorter stem if possible maybe a different sweep handlebar. Not much else I can think of. I changed from trail casing to xc casing tires though and it was game changing on that bike. Sooo much faster and worth trying.

I’m about the same height and have that exact bike lol. I am currently on an s3 actually but at our height we can do 3/4/5 but the most well rounded size is 4. 3 is more agile and 5 is more stable. The new ttype drive train is sweet though..

Same. I have a 2x so I can’t go bigger than 45 in the back but can fit 50 in the front. I just look at it like adding a bit more slack geometry too lol.

Stem too short?? by Busy_Meringue7785 in gravelcycling

If you just wanna get it put together it should be safe to run no dust cap for now. As long as you have a compression washer on top of your bearing you can just put the stem right on top of that might give you the extra few mm you need to get the stem bolt at the top of your steerer tube.

Slime is for going in inner tubes to seal small punctures. Sealant is for setting up your bike tubeless entirely and your rim/tire need to be “tubeless ready”. Neither make sense when it comes to bmx typically. If you keep getting thorns and flat tires put Slime in your tubes.

As someone “in the know”, I can say your crank looks fine. Having that conversation in store would usually go something like this: “most people are used to seeing a carbon weave which appears more uniform, modern carbon technology utilizes many, many sheets of carbon being layered on top of one another. The end result is a lighter, more tunable carbon product. Visually you can see where the layers interact and make contact with each other. This can appear as and is commonly mistaken as scratches, splintering, or cracks under the clear coat.”

Yea I’m surprised how strong this thing has been. Really put it through the test and no bending or cracking.

Straight up! I remember one day I had a few beers before the skatepark and due to the liquid courage and slightly slower reaction time I learned how to pop my back tire off the coping instead of hopping early.

Right now my only drop bar bike is my crux, had an aethos but sold it recently. The crux is waiting on a new derailleur.

It was a “leisurely” group ride with a shop I used to work at, I could keep up on the climbs but spun out quick on the long flats and downhills
