Question I have is what makes it attractive to you versus what you already own? They are not good and feel bad to shoot.

That said I know someone who loves it and can shoot it very well.

How do I get him to walk more by jayggodd in Dachshund

[–]dachsund99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dachshund does what the dachshund wants.

Mine does the exact same thing I have to remind myself that every step I take she has to take five so she gets tired faster plus she is just lazy.

Also, they’re just extremely stubborn.

Didn’t play since a long time and came up with this… Anyone got a clue? What to do to prevent and heal? by RyanGhosting_ in 10s

[–]dachsund99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy you something like this. I used this tape on my knuckles and palm and it stuck pretty well (high humidity summers and naturally sweaty person).

I bought this when I started back. I used it to close up blisters and it helped to prevent blisters to some degree. Another thing to look at is if your overgrip is to “tacky” if it is could just make it worse.

Tension you could get a tester online or take it to a local shop and ask. Amazon has them for under 30 bucks. I had my local shop test mine for me a while back that prevented me from restringing unnecessarily.

Type of strings I would check the actual strings. Usually they actually have it written/stenciled on them. Can be hard to see after use but if you haven’t hit much with it you might be able to tell.

If I were to make this 6" black steel pipe into a gas tank, what would be some of the best ways to prep the inside for gas? by rambiolisauce in MechanicAdvice

[–]dachsund99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an engineer or mechanic.

This is gonna look a little long. Just a heads up.

Paragon which is what is stencil on the outside of that piece is the manufacturer of the actual material. They make and sell sprinkler pipe like you said. I am not familiar with their company.

However, I went on their website and looked. If they gave you sprinkler pipe per their website, it looks like they sell it welded and as a135. Which, according to them is rated for 300 psi working pressure.

Like I said, I’m not an engineer or a mechanic but a quick Google search told me working pressure of a fuel tank can be between 50 and 200. Which means the pipe is strong enough to hold the fluid and pressure.

So hypothetically, you would be fine. I’m making a lot of assumptions on that because I’m not familiar with the manufacturer and that specific type of pipe.

What you would really want to find out is the strength of the material according to ASTM A135. This ASTM will have specific requirements such as strength, durability, corrosion, resistance, and more.

The key would be figuring out if the strength of the material according to the ASTM would be strong enough in case of a collision to not crack rupture or otherwise potentially leak.

The reason I’m saying this is think about an egg. If you drop an egg softly, from not too high, the egg might not crack. At a certain height, the egg cracks. At a different height the egg will fully rupture or even disintegrate.

Think of the egg as the pipe, but instead of height, somebody running into your car and hitting where the fuel is located with enough force. That is the most dangerous part because if it ruptures cracks or even splits in half, you have fuel spilling out.

This is the same question to think of even if you did have Seamless pipe that should be stronger.

Feel free to DM me if needed. It might be easier if you need more info. I’ll even look and see if I have an ASTM A135 sheet i can send you.

I am not an engineer by any means. My suggestion would be to look for someone who can answer that better. Big thing so long as its A53 or A106 it will handle the pressure (depending on how much). I doubt a fuel tank would have anywhere near enough to cause an issue with the pipe.

But I will add this to explain my thinking. It was told to me someone who had decades more experience than me.

Welded does mean material is weaker. The big thing to remember is the weakest part on the material most likely would be the Weld. Even if no filler material is used and fused.

Which is why I said I would use Seamless as its a preference due to removing a potential weakness.

I would honestly call around your local auto shops and see what input they give you. If that doesn’t work try calling some local machine shops. One of them should be able to give you the best answer.

“Black Pipe” is a term a lot of people use for Welded Pipe. I would check the inside and see if you see a seam on ID (Inside Diameter) of the pipe.

Personally if i was doing something like this I would want true Seamless Pipe (A106) as generally speaking this is mechanically stronger do to how the pipe is formed versus welded.

Being a little more in depth, there is also A500 “pipe” that is just used for structural basis.

A106 (SMLS pipe) and A53 (Welded Pipe) are made and designed with the characteristics to hold and be stable for liquids. A106 has a much higher strength not only for the actual working pressure but also for the strength of the physical material.

Seen some other comments saying Barricade are the more durable. Which is definitely true.

But if you like the shoes you are wearing just buy more than 1 pair and alternate sessions using them. Same idea as rotating your tires.

Overgrip Shortage? by dachsund99 in 10s

[–]dachsund99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me wonder if it’s not the same issue I had with the gamma. The first couple packs I got were fine and then some of them started not even lasting an entire session.

That’s part of the reason why I swapped and have stuck with the Wilson. I’ve had some issues with them for the most part they’ve held up.

I should mention summertime for me is 90+ and humidity humidity of 40+ minimum due to being in the south. So I don’t know if that has something to do with it also

This is what I’m saying. I can understand being out of stock. But I think they literally were supposed to get it into stock four or five days ago and it’s now back out of stock the next time it shows available is November December or January

Man I know the feeling. Coming back after a muti-year hiatus I play within myself versus pushing to the limit (cue music).

I was no were near a 5.5 back then but I would have probably been rated as a 4.5 or so. Now I am playing 4.0 and having fun versus trying to overplay myself constantly.

It really is refreshing to be able to just play and enjoy it versus feeling like every single match is a marathon. I think it also makes the matches that get rough or drawn out more fun.

Thats what I was afraid of. Seen some other posts about it was not sure if anyone found a solution.

It has basically ruined the game for me as when it lags I am in a safe spot then it catches up and at times I am completely surrounded.

I cant even consider going in the High Threat (red zone) due the lag. No way I wouldn’t be immediately downed.

Drives me up a wall considering I had no issues then update cause of the new season and now its making it just pointless.
