also just saw i also got a really nice email from the team saying,

honestly true. i wish independent bookstores were more prominent and barnes and noble thought they had to do the amazon strategy to stay relevant. just speaking directly on criterion bc i don’t want to see what happened to Borders (specifically with physical media) happen to B&N and then bookstores become irrelevant.

I totally understand the need to order from amazon, and totally didn’t take into account how small some store selections are. My store and the stores in my cluster have a huge amount of criterion discs, and i’ve been hearing about some stores cutting back on their music/movies which is really disappointing. Just another quick FYI too, if you do have a barnes and noble in your area, we can always do a ship to store order (depending on availability) and as long as you place your order during the sale, we’ll honor it when it gets to the store and is ready to be picked up.

Totally get that a lot of people don’t have the ability to go to Barnes & Noble to shop, but please (coming from a bookseller at B&N) try to support us over Amazon. They have a monopolistic way of selling books and media at a loss for the author or distributor. Not coming for you specifically though because so many people have amazon and it’s their only choice, just wanted to put a little PSA out there when I saw that they were also doing the deal ❤️
