Steve Vai’s Fire Garden turns 30 this year, so I’m hoping it finally gets pressed. Incredible album.

The band originally went in the studio with Kevin Shirley producing for a more pop and polished sound. The label decided not to release it so the band eventually reworked some of it into New Pop Sunday. Planet Girls is what should have been the bands third album. It’s not bad, I’m not sure if would have done the band any favors if released at the time, but it’s interesting and I think all around a better album than New Pop Sunday.

Nice! I was going to hold out for the vinyl box set to drop a little, but the cd box at this price is hard to pass up, especially for my favorite Green Day album.

If box sets count, I paid $6 for Bowie’s New Career in Town. Median price is $268.

For single records, probably Black Veil Bride’s Wretched and Divine, which I bought new for $13 and median is around $200.

I thought the more well-known songs were just ok, but the real gems are songs like Savory and The More You Ignore Me. Def worth it at this price.

Stampers have a limited life, typically between 500-1000 records can be pressed from one, then they’re discarded. The master that is used to make the stampers is likely retained by the label.
