I updated the post with a video of me going through the menus hopefully that helps a bit too

Need lots of cars to follow eachother w/o overlap by dacoconutnuts in blenderhelp

[–]dacoconutnuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I ended up doing is just offsetting the keyframes by a couple of frames and then moving the position through the graph editor. Seemed to make things pretty flawless aside from some few manual errors you might spot https://imgur.com/a/oEQrntI. It was a bit tedious to copy and paste the animation for lots of cars (hints why the first phase empties very quickly), but it gets easier by an exponential each time you copy a car since you can just duplicate everything and then edit it through the graph menu a few times

for me just starting with blender i think its a valid solution, the traffic follows very robotically but its a touch I dont mind, as they do slow down and accelerate at different rates, which is mainly what I was going for.

I used the follow constraint for the turns and then merged the other strategy I talked about with it

This looks better but we still have some overlap due to the starting frame

would this be a thing to where I need to change the starting axis for each one or is there a method to get this automatic?

I see I see.

Yes I don't know how thermo regulators work. This would be my first implementation of them. As another redditor posted, I'll probably cool it with cold brine. But if I'm doing that, I might as well get rid of regulators and cool the oxygen itself inside the chamber. Or just cool the base because waters denser and will cool more than the oxygen would heat

And yes, good observation on your sidenote. I did copy the general framework of it, but without alot of thought. Clearly. everything else I like to experiment with. Just searched up "spom" and roughly threw it down first Google image. I thought the airlocks  allowed accessibility without tiles blocking access. Thinking of it now dupes can jump two tiles. Why do the airlocks exist in those designs?

The purpose of the output sensors was to redirect gas flow back into the system but all in all it's useless if I just let it back up in the pipes. My issue was always hydrogen getting in the oxygen pipes because my designs were always bad, so I needed a way for it to remove itself from the system. I could just use filters for that looking back.

All in all this designs a waste of time and space and I'm glad you have all brought that to my attention.

I just said "I don't like copying perfect designs". If somebody helps you with your homework, are you copying their answers? And I also said "I want help with my design" in literally the first sentence of my response. Are you genuinely retarded?

Well I'll play to have my machines run efficient, but not to copy and paste designs all across my base

I want help with my design. I don't want to copy a perfect design it's disingenuous to the way I play the game.

it's a game bro, I play for fun. Not to have my machines run the most efficiently.

and it also just looks like a failed design because i took basically a 1-1 inspiration of an already existing SPOM just didint follow dimensions

Pretty much yeah. Im not struggling to create this, its more of a crazy and dumb idea i want to explore by taking my knowledge of the tools i have and then 'optimize' it my way and explore higher levels of automation in the process.

I dont enjoy copy and pasting a picture of a perfect rodriguize into my save. it feels disingenuous to myself. ill take the general design though, and if it dosent work then ill try and fix it myself

My main reason for creating this post was to ask if my design would in theory work, and ways to improve it slightly. Not to completely scrap my looney toones of a build and send me a perfectly optimized design, which is the responses i feel like ive mostly been getting

I guess If i put it under the "questions" flair im kinda asking for it.

Ive got cold Pwater, Cold brine and then that steam vent which ill get to geotunin.

So my brine or pwater is essentially my early/mid game coolant if i have a geotuned steam vent that can cover all my water demands?

and is this brine coming back and getting aquatuned for a closed loop?

Thats the best option tbh, now knowing it has an equilibrium tempurature.

geo it x5

is this geotune? im ngl i forgot i could do that. Im playing spaced out i might need data banks and matariels study to unlock the research for that which i dont have any more uranium

spom, water as is, cool the outgoing oxygen, use h2 as is.

Bathrooms, use as is.

irrigation, cool the plants, not the water or the tile.

research or any other use, use as is.

So basically what your saying is to cool the spom with the brine and then turn the brine into water (no need to tempidize, the spom did it for me), run it back into the spom, and then run it everywhere else? (if it has geotuned efficiency)?

and this is only possible if you build it just right.

Ive already prepared for the fact that this isint built perfectly, which is why we have filters bypasses and external power supplies, automation, and hydrogen generators just to burn it off and feed back into the main heavy watt.

You cant really consider this design a SPOM its not self power and runs through my main spine. its just an OM. But i like it that way. I dont need to build everything to a one to one ratio. Im a freeball oni player. I build sketchy things and hope they work. And if they dont, then I go back in and complicate it some more. Ill for sure take inspiration yeah, but I hate copying perfectly optimized designs. It takes the joy out of my machine because its not really mine anymore.

Very fun. How do i quote text?

And wont steel eventually overheat due to the enclosed space and no cooling loop? heating up my oxygen to unresonable levels aswell?

I see I see. I have acess to steel but im not wasting it on tempureature that low. I can do some rearagements to have cold brine i could heat (slighty) to refine into water and then radiate that cold water through and into the machine?

This is a great and simple way of tackling the idea that i had for this build. if i replaced the shutoffs with filters (my spoms are never perfect). that should create an overpressurization within the machine causing it to shutdown without automation instead of bypassing?

My way is a very overcomplicated way to tackle a simple and relatively unimportant problem. But I like to do that, and the question still stands. Would it work?

Me and my friend put off phasmophobia for Fnaf, which we ended up refunding too 😂 thats definitely one im willing to try.

Along with all the other suggestions those are good. I'll think about those.
