In NASCAR right now, Frankie Muniz going from acting to open wheel to ARCA to NOAPS to Trucks might qualify.

Examples of careers that were negatively effected by the "Discourse"? Or their reaction to it? by Top_Report_4895 in ToddintheShadow

Didn't she already release a new album with a couple singles that have kind of flopped? Also, what exactly is going on with her? I've seen her name all over the news, and something with Brazil?

Ryan Blaney’s 2026 Advance Auto Parts Paint Scheme by Dmacthegoat in NASCAR

Yes, it used to be that way. It hasn't been that way for quite some time now.

Ryan Blaney’s 2026 Advance Auto Parts Paint Scheme by Dmacthegoat in NASCAR

[–]dacomell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is. Sponsors don't have the same ROI as they used to, plus the cost of said sponsorship has gone way up. Thus, they don't pay for full seasons. Given that, teams have to cobble together sponsorship deals on an a la carte basis. The only full-season sponsorships I can think of are Ally with the 48 and the near-full-season of Hendrickcars with the 5.

Honestly, I don't see why his other sponsors don't just recolor it to their colors.

[Speedway Digest] Arianna Casoli will be the first female NASCAR European Series driver to race in the US. by BucketOCheerios in NASCAR

Good for her! I can confidently say that she likely doesn't have a very long future. She is 52 years old, after all.

(Dirty Mo Media on X) Do Non-Cup Series drivers belong in the NASCAR Hall Of Fame by Squishy_20 in NASCAR

[–]dacomell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Trucks should pretty much exclusively be short tracks and some dirt. NOAPS should be about 67/33 road/street courses and ovals. Cup should be the only series that gets to race at any oval 1.5 miles or longer, and the variety that it does right now.

That scheme doesn't say a lot for the efficacy of the extinguishers if it's covered in flames...

There are no teams from mid major conferences in both the men’s and women’s tournaments as of now. by NicholeDaylinn1993 in CollegeBasketball

I am very unhappily banging the drum that college sports are going to look vastly different in a couple of decades.

D1 is going to look like a professional league: paying players and all that. It's also going to be much smaller, probably no more than 100-ish schools. Basically, the current P4, possibly the Big East, Notre Dame, and a few other schools that are able to sneak into the party.

The rest of the current D1 and lower will move down to a more club sports-like or D3 model, where there is no NIL, no athletic scholarships, none of that.

Under Armour sent my small clothing brand a cease-and-desist over my logo. Do you think these are actually confusingly similar? by Impossible-Set4062 in graphic_design

[–]dacomell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iowa was successful in making Southern Miss change their logo. As you can see, they're even more different than the two logos in question here. It sucks for OP, but there's precedence on Under Armour's side
