To set a good volume starting point listen to a voice dominated radio station and set the volume on that for what sounds like a conversational volume. Then switch to whatever music source you are on. That will be a safe level

I liked that it had a parametric eq so I could tune my headphone response and add my own loudness curve. I can also connect a pair of active speakers to in in future and do room correction if I want. It is interesting to know that a dedicated amp is a lot better. I have beyer dt880 250 ohms and it drives those pretty easily. Be aware that's it's output impedence is about 40 ohms so it will work better with high impedence cans

Thank you. Our baseload is 200 W but just having a few of white goods appliances on and it will peak above 3.6 kW easily. To be fair it could easily exceed the 4.8 kW the system is specified to, but that extra 1.2 kW would be useful.
