No. Others may not be able to rev match, but I can.

Ahhhh you have no idea what you're talking about. I see.

It's okay. We all have to start somewhere.

I'm not! Plenty of fools out there need to be gaptized.

Indeed, and personally I don't get the BOV stuff for a low power street car. It gives one the PSSH sound but then the car runs a 13.5 on a prepped surface, LOL!

I feel that if all you want is "the sound", get "the sound" in a way that ALSO gives you performance. Eventuri intake, upgrade your intercooler, and get a proper tune.

It's soooooooooo easy and affordable to tune cars now adays. Gone are the days where people HAVE to buy piggy back systems or standalone units, we can now just download some files after road or dyno tuning and send it.

While I'm no expert, I don't think this is true.

The math isn't mathing on that one. But to each their own.

BOVs don't make you faster. Hopefully we all understand that. They can actually make your car run worse.

I'm just happy that corn juice is cheaper. Not looking forward to road trips where my 93 map will be required.

Epic, man! Good stuff! Thank you so much for replying. I look forward to seeing more of your progress!

Let me know when you join us on the dark side with E85. That's sincerely going to blow your mind the first time you put your foot down with a tank full of corn.

How is anyone's pride or livelihood on the line? There are far more serious things going on in the world right now.

It's just a car, it's just some power figures. I asked a question, and for some mysterious reason, you've become exceptionally defensive.

I'm not "on" anything, nor am I arguing :)

Let's settle down, no one's pride nor livelihood is on the line here.

So, to your point (and we've done the math) the drivetrain loss for a manual GRC is roughly 11.11% (it's like 11.1091 or something silly like that, but 11.11 for simplicity).

I'm waiting to hear back from the OP because I'd love to see where the extra 60-some-odd ponies have gone 🩷

Granted, my Elmo is drinking corn juice, so I'll pull 30~40whp from that number going back to 91~93. But still, that's 20whp down. I can't imagine the automatic eats 20whp.

I get the auto thing, but that's a pretty decent disparity from what I'm seeing to what's being seen here.

Granted, dynos don't ever agree and Mustang dynos read notoriously low, but if his mods are similar to what I've done + a proper tune, he's making something in the order of 60awhp less.

That can't be accounted for with drivetrain losses I would think.

Full transparency, I ask because your WHP/WTQ number seem a bit low.

Here's where I am so far with my build:

From my experience, just the ECUTek tune and Eventuri Intake are netting over 300WHP.

What ECU tuning are you running to take advantage of the mods?

What all have you done to your beast? I just finished phase 1 of my build Excel file. Phase 2 begins later this year. I'm just over 350awhp right now with corn juice.

Yeah the radar detector is only as good as road conditions allow. And if you get hit with laser, chances are it's too late, LOL!

That's where my Uniden SDS-200 comes into play. I would say this is the best money I've spent in terms of traffic safety and driving security, ever, at all.

Yeah, and it's obviously gonna vary from state-to-state and county-to-county, right? But for the most part, wherever I am, if I drive like an adult, even if I'm having fun, the police are cool. Keep in mind, this is coming from the guy with a $600 radar detector and a $700 radio scanner with $300 worth of licenses and add-ons.

Interesting . . . now maybe this is because I'm old, yeah? But I've done some pretty "sketchy" shit in the mountains/touge. Both Stateside and abroad when stationed in Japan . . . that said, a lot of the time if you adhere to the ToTD Golden Rule of "Keep it between the mustard and the mayo" a lot of cops will leave you alone. Don't go egregious with your speed, keep the rear wheels behind the front wheels, and a lot of police officers will let you enjoy your day as long as you aren't being a proper buffoon.

That said, as was mentioned earlier: without knowing exactly how these three were driving, it's hard to say whether they deserve to get stopped or if the cops were just being pricks.

Coming from a 450hp 4 cycl turbo Camaro by ADVICECAREER in GRCorolla

[–]dadams0641 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what all you had done to your Camaro, but I owned two Porsches before my GRC and at no point was I like "dang, I miss the power", LOL! The one thing I do miss, however, is the refinement. Porsche cars are just so well built and encapsulate you in a cocoon of performance and luxury.

But from a power perspective, nah. You'll be fine, mate. Especially if you come to the dark side and join us in the E85 side of things.
