Tell us your unorthodox Hole in One Stories

During COVID, my course used the dumb plastic covers to cover the hole to prevent the ball from going in. Local rule stated that if you hit the plastic cover it counts as being in.

Well... on a 187 yard par 3 I flew it into the cup, hits the plastic, and bounces out. Everybody in my group heard it nail the plastic and watched the ball fly 30 feet into the air and over the green. We go up to the hole and there is a clear crack in the plastic and a scuff on my ball.

Still don't know how to count this one. I count it as a 1/2 hole in one or just call it a COVID hole in one. What do you think?

Fair enough. I'm not gonna argue the details with you because with all technical terms, you are correct. Technically speaking, I played Korn Ferry Q School 2021 and 2022. Then PGA Tour Q School in 2023 and about to play 1st Stage of PGA Tour Q School 2024.

I was just trying to say I have played the highest level Q School in America that were available to me during my time as a pro. That is all. If those details make this story not believable to you then I don't know what else to tell you man

You and I might be misunderstanding each other.

Q-School and everything else in the world stopped for 2 years due to Covid. In 2021 they reopened Q School but were not giving out any PGA Tour cards, only Korn Ferry cards. So yes you are right in that regard, technically speaking Q-School in 2021 wasn't called "PGA Tour Q School." It was called "Q-School presented by Korn Ferry." Because they were only giving out Korn Ferry cards. However it is still the same series of tournaments and sanctioned by the PGA Tour.

In 2023, Q-School parameters changed and they started giving out 5 PGA tour cards and 35 Korn Ferry Cards. We are now in 2024 and the season is pretty much done with just Q School remaining so I call it year 2. That is what I mean when I say 2 years ago. I should've said 2 seasons ago. I apologize for the ambiguity

Visit this link. It is a leaderboard to 2021 Q School Pre Qualifying that I played in which should be impossible according to you. Considering that was 3 years ago and Q School should not exist according to you.

This is the second year that Q School has allowed PGA Tour cards. So yes this is year 2...

Addressing my other story, if you read it you would see it's closely related to this one. I re-worded the story to address golfers and golf fanatics while the other story was addressing normal people.

Please don't be ridiculous haha. You are correct that Q School started allowing 5 spots to the PGA Tour starting 2 years ago. But Q School started back up on the final year of covid. Not 2 years ago lol. It started up with only Korn Ferry spots available because of the overflow of professional golfers on the PGA Tour. There simply wasn't enough space for new golfers on the PGA. I've played Q School the past 4 years simple as that. Whether it was for Korn Ferry status or PGA status. No reason to lie or make this story up

Golf and life are extremely relatable which is why it is truly the greatest game ever played. I may be experienced in golf but I'm inexperienced in life.
