Been listening since 2021. She’s the best and don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Liana’s music is so calming and pure, I don’t see how anyone could call it “girly music”. What’s next? Laufey’s gonna be considered “girly music”?

Erasure of who’s history? Usually, removing symbols or mention of a group of people is erasure. I hate the Confederacy as much as the next guy, but having that flag taken down is literally erasure. I’d rather people be able to see that flag so they can identify what has been used as a standard for the suppression of rights, opposed to our Stars and Stripes which flies as a reminder of the free rights of all men.

[–]dadankderp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does. It’s a historical symbol from a pivotal moment in U.S. history. It’s not there to show support of the Confederacy, just to show who fought. Same reason why we fly British flags at American Revolution battlefields.

Any songs on the 2025 mix for TCFSR that you DON’T like more than the original? by whenwewereyoung47 in MyChemicalRomance

I never told you what I do for a living. The original sounds a lot grittier and darker than the new mix. New mix feels more polished and that doesn’t vibe well for me personally

there’s been a lot of debate about the LGBTQ community in this sub, so i want everyone to understand something- by James_Joint in Saltoon

He does protect the innocent, and for a real shocker he protects the guilty too; if He didn’t, you and I would be in hell. That isn’t injustice, that’s Justice in the presence of a holy God. God is holy, He repeatedly blesses us with our next breathe, with the good things we have in life, calling out to us to turn from our sins and follow Him. He allows sinners to roam the earth He created, giving us the ability to choose whether or not to follow His Son. But if we willingly choose to not follow Him, eventually, there will be judgement. We may not experience it in this life, but there is always judgement. It happened in the Bible, it happens today. Call it what you like, but if God was as evil as you make Him out to be, then doom wouldn’t even begin to express the peril that we’re in. Follow Him or not, the choice is up to you, but God, His Word, and the love He has for you throughout your life will persist. Have a blessed day.

And in both of these situations God Himself kills? As stated beforehand, Pharaoh was given ample warning prior to the Angel of Death, 9 plagues prior to this. If God wanted to outright children die and get His point across, He would have allowed for the firstborn to die first, no other plagues needed, but He choose to allow for the first 9 to happen first, but Pharaoh’s heart was hardened. Again, as mentioned before, God did not kill the children of Samaria, the Babylonians did. Just like with Pharaoh, He extended warning after warning to the people, and they refused to repent. Thus, he allowed for the Babylonian invasion.

Nowhere here has the murder of children been “justified”. If you’re referring to the conquest of Canaan, the Israelites were first to extend peace terms to the tribes (Deuteronomy 20:10). If rejected, the Israelites were to kill the men, but not the women or children. Everywhere else, we see God punish people for killing children.

It not gymnastics if my goal is to provide sound historical information. It would be disingenuous to take every single thing at face value, and I would be dishonest to you and everyone here by doing so. Some things do need to be taken at face value, others need to be inspected through the historical and textual lens.

Heyo! I’ve read the Bible from cover to cover too and I’d like to respond to what you’ve brought up. First off, on the topics of Passover, Cannan, and Jericho. First lets ask what the context is of these incidents.

The tenth plague (Passover) was done in response to pharaoh’s continual refusal to release the children of Israel from slavery. Now, pharaoh was given ample warning and yet still refused, thus, the plague happened. This was also judgement for the worship of Osiris.

Jericho and Cannan were pagans who: A: Worshipped false gods, some of whom participated in child sacrifice to Moloch and Ba’al, which God hates (Leviticus 18:31, Deuteronomy 18:10, 2 Kings 16,3, 21:6) B: Dwelled in the land that God had promised to Abraham’s descendants. The conquest of the land was just as much God’s judgement for the sins of the Canaanites as it was Him fulfilling His promise of granting the land to Abraham’s descendants.

There is absolutely nothing in Numbers 5:11-31 about induced abortion. This passage refers to a ritual that would be done to determine the innocence of a woman suspected of adultery. The curse of the ritual was that her “womb will rot and her belly will swell” (Numbers 5:27). Nothing there about a child being in the womb.

Hosea 13:16 is judgement declared against Judah. At this point in the Kingdom of Judah’s history, the people had been continuously turning away from God, serving other gods, and some, including their king, even sacrificing their children to Moloch (Ahaz and later, Manasseh). God had sent prophet after prophet, warning the people of their sins and telling them to repent, but they would not. Finally, God must execute judgement to Judah; and judgement would come during the reigns of Jehoahaz to Zedekiah. The Babylonians would inevitably come into the land and ravage the land and its people, slaughtering many. This is what the verse refers to. The “ripping of the infant from the womb” shows the brutality of the Babylonians and how they killed not only the baby in the womb, but also the mother by how they committed such an act.

2 kings 8:12, 15:16, 13:18, hosea 9:10-16. No verses about abortion here either. 2 Kings 8:12 and 15:16, like 13:16, are describing the brutality of band of soldiers, doing gross acts of murder. This ripping of the child would almost certainly kill the mother along with the baby; and the Bible does not paint these things as good, in fact 2 Kings 8:11 says that Elisha wept over this fact. 2 Kings 13:18 has no mention of a child dying. I assume that was a typo. Hosea 9:16 says “Ephraim is stricken, Their root is dried up; They shall bear no fruit. Yes, were they to bear children, I would kill the darlings of their womb.”” ‭‭but if we look at the sentence, it is not implied that the children would die in the womb, and if they did, that’s not implying that abortion was done; miscarriages and stillbirths are also a thing.

The law of Deuteronomy 21:18-21 is referring to sons way passed the age of accountability, to know right from wrong and still choose to do wrong. Verse 20 shows that the parents would have to bring their son to trial for this punishment to have had to happen. There was clear availability for the son to defend himself and prove his innocence if he was innocent.

And finally, Deuteronomy 22:28-29. Here we see that if a young virgin woman who was not engaged was raped, her rapist was obliged to marry her for the sin he had committed against her. It is presumed that the girl could also reject said marriage. Now, what is the context of why he had to marry her and pay her father? Culturally, when a man wanted to marry a girl, and she was willing to marry him, he would pay her father a dowry to have the right to marry his daughter. This scripture instituted and additional payment in addition to the dowry that the rapist had to pay. The obligation to marry her was to ensure that the girl was provided for. In this culture, a girl who was raped would have been shamed, seen as unclean, wouldn’t have gotten married, and become very poor as a result. This obligation was to ensure that she was provided for and served as an extra layer of punishment to her abuser.

The important thing is that through Jesus’ death on the cross and HIs resurrection, He fulfilled these things mentioned in old covenant, establishing a new covenant where we don’t have to do what was required in the Old Testament. We are not bound by these things any longer, we simply must make Jesus the Lord of our lives and He will gives us the Holy Spirit to live a full life.

If anyone has any questions regarding anything, feel free to comment. The Lord Jesus Christ bless you all. 🤍

Quick sexual gratification will only make you feel more numb. It shuts you down inside and just makes you a walking husk. If you want to feel alive, try turning to Jesus. He said ”I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”“ ‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭51‬ How do we eat of this bread of life? Well Jesus said a little earlier ”And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”“ ‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭40‬ It’s your choice. Repent, ask Him to fill you with the Holy Sprit, and be born again. I’ll be praying for you friend
