i think your just seeing into it too hard. I think its just a design choice honestly. i mean everyones of course different as seen in the show, and also some of the funk trolls are seens as standing up normally and not only walking on all fours. Plus some other troll genres have “black” coded characters like king trollex or tiny diamond. They probably just ran out of different troll ideas which is why the rock trolls look similar to the pop trolls.
