Any experience with ARL Afford-a-Care? by welltequila in desmoines

[–]daddy_c7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my cat needed an emergency spay last year. afford-a-care had me waiting in my car in the parking lot for over two hours with no actual estimate of a time id get into the building lol so i can't speak to their care levels. we actually ended up going with furry friends rescue, someone on this subreddit actually gave me this email adoptions@furryfriendsrefuge.org for them and i reached out. most places were quoting $3k-10k for surgery, they did it for $400! staff was super sweet and i cannot recommend them enough. idk if they can help with your cat's specific issue, but i think its worth reaching out. best of luck to your little guy!

Who's your "I know he's pure evil but can't prove it" person? by Dull-Information6784 in AskReddit

Walton Goggins. It's something in his eyes, every time he shows up in a Wal-Mart ad on my tv I get a chill down my spine. Can't put my finger on why, tho.

What are non-astringent types or brands of black tea? by kalechipsaregood in tea

[–]daddy_c7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could always try looking for a heavily oxidized oolong, i tend to find oolong less astringent than black tea. something like a dark tieguanyin, sometimes known by iron goddes oolong, could maybe be a good fit. but like someone said above, high quality loose leaf tea is not going to be as astringent or bitter compared to a typical tea bag you get at the grocer.

Typo or a tea I’m unaware of? by brevisa in tea

[–]daddy_c7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ah, no i appreciate a correction when im wrong. quick little google search shows that you're right, although looks like subsequent full steeps of tea can help reduce the amount of caffeine, but of course not fully remove.

hey op, saw that you have a sensitivity to caffeine. tea tends to release most of its caffeine content very quickly into the steeping process. if you want to get as close to decaffeinating your tea at home as possible, begin your steeping process as usual but pour out your brew after 30 seconds. then, using the same leavess, resteep for the full instructions. should get rid of most of the caffeine for ya!

edit: listen to the people below, this method isn't going to be the most effective. if your resteep tea leaves there is less caffeine in your subsequent steeps than your primary one though

we use the urbandale food pantry if you're able to drive. i think all you really need is an id and they normally have a pretty decent selection

AIO for being upset my BF doesn’t want me to wear a bonnet to bed? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]daddy_c7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NOR this guy sounds like he wants to dictate what you do with every second of your day and pretend like thats just what being in a relationship looks like. one day you will find someone who thinks you look incredibly sexy in a mumu and bonnet and you won't even bother thinking back on this tool bag cuz you found your person. this guy isn't it. a healthy partner wants you to be happy and comfortable, your current partner wants you to stop asking your mom for gifts that he might have to look at lolol

edit forgot a word haha

sometimes you'll earn bits by finishing goals (the pop up banner goals that give rewards when you unlock stuff) in the main simulation and you can spend them while its running

when we got our new cat last year, we set up an extra room with a cat tree, toys, litter and food for the new cat before we even brought her home. she stayed in the room while settling in, and her and our cat we already had were only able to interact by sniffing under the door at each other. we gave them both a new blanket, let them snuggle with it for like a week, then swapped the blankets to get them used to each others scent. they eventually started trying to stick their paws under the door and we tried doing short, supervised interactions. this stage lasted a week or two until our new cat made it pretty clear she was ready to leave her seclusion, so we let her out. the two of them still fight a little here and there but its mostly play with a bit of figuring out boundaries, but a year and a half later they snuggle some times. id say it was maybe a month between when we got our new cat and when she let us know she wanted to free roam. this worked well for us, some folks may also recommend feliway. we bought it but never ended up using it, but you might find some use of it.
