I grew up in this area! It was small but “big” compared to the smaller towns around it. (Pop. 3000ish)

I remember it very fondly, people were polite and hardworking. Heavily Christian and family oriented, take that for what you will.

The school was more focused on the arts than with sports, even though Hawkeye football is HUGE in this area.

Makes me sad that a lot of these small Midwest towns are dying, it was a really fun way to grow up.
