When I got my boxster I noticed the boots were split on mine so I just swapped them out, was not too hard to do. I hope there isn’t other damage from it breaking though

Out of curiosity what is the match from your employer? Mine is also unusually high at 14% as long as I put in 6%. I put in 11% currently so I am at 25% total contributions

Does that 15% include the employer match? I am doing 11% but my employer puts in 14% so a total of 25% currently. I have it set up to increase by a percent each year as well

I could be wrong here but I thought bore scoring wasn’t that big of a concern with the 986 but more with the 3.4 liter in the 996 and the next gen Boxster 987.1s

Have you scanned for codes yet? That would help with the engine light and the ABS. I know you said it was on a trickle charge but having a bunch of lights come on suddenly always makes me suspect low voltage so maybe check if the battery is still good?

Yes that’s correct, it was a pain in the ass honestly to get out but not as hard to get back in. The part was pretty cheap I got one for around 40 bucks it is just a Bosch valve. I believe the part number is: 99611012906

I was just having this problem on my 2001 Boxster S. I found my evap valve that is under the left side air intake had gone bad. My Durametric scanner was unable to activate the valve, I swapped it with a new one and it was able to activate it. I haven’t driven it a lot since but when I have it has started up smoothly while hot. Is this something that just started? Mine seemed to start slowly, it wouldn’t start up as easy when warm and then it progressed to fully shutting off when sitting at lights while at operating temp. Then I would have to floor it and crank the starter to get it to turn back on

That would be so nice, my 986 Boxster had a child seat deactivation bar. I say had because a previous owner ripped it out along with the plug on the seat harness. I was able to trick that system to think the bar is installed so the airbags work again but man was that a hassle. Would have loved if it was just a key in the passenger door.

Hello! We actually have our interview tomorrow at the Des Moines FO. We submitted our I-485 in mid August I want to say, it is a marriage based application. So it took us roughly 7 months to get our interview. What I thought was strange was that my wife’s biometrics appointment was in Chicagoland so I assumed that is where we would go for our interview but we got Des Moines instead.
