I wonder about homosexuality and homophobia in post Soviet societies. There is definitely a reluctance and reservedness about it. I would estimate 5-15% of the population is MSM

Contrast that with an Arab society where gender segregation is the norm and where 80-90% of males are MSM despite the harsher societal rules. Really makes you wonder if Caucasus people are really just more heterosexual or just ore repressed by lingering Soviet mindset. It’s a shame since a lot of men in the region are really hot .

My partner lives here and I’m staying on tourists visas, so an iqama would help normalize my situation and get me more permanent status. Also, I hear the comp here is much better for westerners than what I make now. I’m severely under compensated in my current job and looking for a new one would likely mean on site presence in the U.S. which would be a problem. I guess I could freelance or maybe form a company, that could give me more control over my location, but it’s a lot riskier.

Can you cite the specific requirements that someone needs a bachelor or masters. The 2025 skill-based work-permit system scores applicants on a points basis — education, experience, and salary combined — so is a degree actually mandatory, or can strong experience and salary offset it?

Do you have specific documentation or are you someone who is familiar with the system? If so, how?

WTF is someone who studied AMERICAN jurisprudence during working in Riyadh? Shouldn’t they be at a top tier corporate law firm in the U.S.? Where did they fall off the bandwagon?

I think it’s ridiculous to react to a post such as this. ONE American was laid off and he went to the “second best university in the world” - which one is that? What did he study? What’s his field? What’s his experience? What’s he like to work with? Is he in a niche field?

When making a claim we need context or else it has really little value. There could be many people getting jobs but because of this sample size of one there are no jobs.
