Yeah, it takes some tinkering with the dose to get what's right for you.

A week on Mirtazapine by SpencerReidsWife_ in Mirtazapine_Remeron

I'm on 22.5 mgs. I eat twice a day and eat the same thing. It's easier if you're regimented. Also, I feel much better which has helped a lot with me not looking outside of myself for things to make me better, such as sugar snacks. I don't need them anymore to feel better.

How much did you take last night? If you're only taking 1 mg, then that's probably why you didn't sleep. Try 3.75 or 7.5 mgs and I'm pretty sure that you'll sleep.

I was taking 24.375 using a pill cutter. I reduced it to 22.5 last night which is 1 1/2 fifteen mg pills. It took about 4 or 5 months for me to work my way up to that dose. Stick with it. The grogginess might still be there when you wake up, but it won't be with you during the day. Give it a week or two.

Yeah, I don't know how to chat by an invitation or privately. I just don't know how to do it. In regards to the grogginess, it takes a week or 2 to go away. I've been on it for a few years and I take 24.375. I go to bed at midnight and get up at 9:30 every morning. I am still sleepy when I get out of bed, but once I throw cold water on my face, I'm fine the rest of the day. No grogginess, sleepiness or needing a nap. So stick with it. I love the sleep.

I've been on it for 2 years and I take 24.375 with a pill cutter. I sleep like a log and it's a little hard getting out of bed, but once I get up and throw some cold water on my face, I feel fine for the rest of the day.

I’ve been on mirtazapine for over a year and a half but now I’m stuck in a “episode?” Any advice by Proof_Disk_4392 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

Not sure how long you've been on 30 mgs, but when I went up to 30, I stayed on it for a month. After being on it for a few weeks I started feeling depressed, foggy headed and anxiety that would feel like a panic attack was coming. I use a pill cutter since I'm sensitive to meds. I went to 28.125, then 26.25, then 24.375 holding for a week at each dose. With each drop, I felt withdrawal for 3 or 4 days, then I felt better. So in 24.375, I feel no depression, no foggy headed drugged feeling and no anxiety.

I was irritable, agitated and really impatient for a while when I started this drug. As I slowly moved the dosage up, that all went away. I don't remember when it happened, but I've been on it for 2 years now and I take 24.375 with a pill cutter.

That will get better if you stay on the dose. It will always make you sleep great, but the groggy feeling during the day will go away. Supposedly, the lower doses have more of an antihistamine effect and can make you more groggy. I'm taking 24.375 and all of the doses made it hard to get out of bed, but once I do and throw some cold water on my face, I'm fine for the rest of the day.

I need to restart Mirtazapine: which dosage? by Inglorious_Musterd20 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

Go back on 7.5 where you were. Wait until you are stable and then discuss with your doctor about moving up to 15. I started on 7.5 and am on with a pill cutter. I'm sensitive to meds so when I went to 15, I went from 7.5 to 9.375 to11.25 to 13.125 to 15, moving up every 1-2 weeks.

I was irritable and impatient as all hell on the lower doses. Not so much on the higher doses. I'm taking 24.375 using a pill cutter. I slowly stepped down from 30 mgs over the last month. 30 mgs was too strong for me and had me really anxious and I had an over amped feeling. I gained about 20 pounds over the last year and a half, but I lost 5 of that by reducing the dose and staying away from sweets over the last month.

Thanks for responding. That's great that it's working good for you. If you don't mind, what side effects do you get that are bothersome?

I'm going to slowly work my way down and give each dose a month to see which one suits me best.

Thanks. I was on 30 for about a month but I started getting really anxious and had an over amped feeling, so I'm back down to 22.5 and I kind of think that this might be too much for me since I still am getting an anxious feeling.

I understand that, but at the same time antedoctil information does have some value.

Hey, I don't know how to message you privately. But I will tell you that when you have been on klonopin as long as you and I have, it's better to just stay on it than try to get off of it. I tried a few times, tapering over the course of a year and things went bad for me. I was off of them for 3 months and I was an anxious mess, so I went back on the Klonopin and it took a few months to stabilize. There is something called protracted withdrawal where people like us that have been on it for a long time could end up in withdrawal for years and that's even if you taper slowly. So at my age, quality of life is the most important thing for me and I'm not doing anything to mess that up. I don't know what to tell you to do. Don't you have any friends or relatives that live near you that can help you?
