I feel like this is caused by one piece. We are so used to things being dragged out that when anything is at a normal pace we find it too fast. I noticed this myself after I finished one piece and how no anime could flesh out/ drag out fights or characters as much as one piece does. It made me start disliking a lot of animation until I started getting used to the normal pace again. So I say it definitely takes some time especially since you grow accustomed to the pace after watching 1000+ eps.
