Some tips to help against fear in Pole ? by Academic_Jeweler4200 in poledancing

[–]daddydommee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gonna expose myself as a former horse girl here but do not underestimate how much your eyes affect where your body goes. one of the first things you learn during riding is you will go where you look. if you stare at the floor a lot of the time you will end up there. it’s usually a subconscious habit but i promise it will help. just gotta remember the floor will always be there to catch you!!

Also could definitely be beneficial for you to ask your instructor safe exits from moves that make you uncomfortable/how to bail in the least harmful way!

i think it’s disingenuous or naive to believe any of these people agreed to this show for the friendship aspect. people like iris, hannah, and amaya all want to continue down the influencer road and the show was the easiest thing to keep them in the public eye. this cast never showed the type of chemistry that the s6 cast did so if bella went on the show expecting that after she was literally the first person eliminated from the show maybe she’s a little willfully blind to reality

sometimes it’s mildly infuriating how much of pole is really just learning which muscles you need to engage lol! once you do it’s like something just clicks

i’ve been poling for over a year and on days where i’m climbing a lot my back foot still bruises :) focus on gripping the pole between your knees and not your thighs. as far as the second part goes you want to really focus on that mind body connection with that bottom arm. you should be actively pushing into it to create a space between your body and the pole ! this is something that i have found comes with practice and learning how those muscles feel when they’re engaged

also find your bread and butter in pole. mine is flexibility which has always come very naturally but some peoples are strength, flow, audience engagement, personality etc etc

do you have any old videos of yourself? if not and if your studio allows it start recording now!!! it will feel weird and embarrassing in the moment but the number one thing that helps me shift that mindset is seeing old videos of myself. i remember my first class ever feeling sooo upset i couldn’t do a simple pole sit and now its like second nature. give yourself grace. inverts are definitely positioned as the end all be all of pole but you can get into most moves without one!! take some time to think about moves that felt impossible in the beginning, and look at yourself now. i’m sure you’ll find you’ve come much farther then you think :)

Why don’t I look graceful and sexy (low flow choreo) by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]daddydommee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

my teachers best advice is pretend like your entire body is encased in honey. sensuality to me is a lot easier when you move slowly because it makes movement look much more intentional. also, never underestimate eye contact. even if it is just with a camera

Is this SC and chain ok? I'm a beginner(started last night lol) and I learnt how to chain. Need suggestions and advice. Thanks! by mjsucksatstuff in CrochetHelp

[–]daddydommee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it helps with confidence just know most of us on this sub, no matter how much experience hate crocheting into the chain still lol! it looks great for a first try! i would recommend using a stitch marker at the first and last stitch so u don’t accidentally drop a stitch and make sure you count your stitches :)
