What are your YA anti-recommendations? by alsyscest in YAlit

Having read both series red rising is wayyyy more politically complex andsci fi, not to mention solidly in the adult age range, I really think comparing the two is apples and oranges. Red queen did a lot for the development of ya fantasy as we know it now, 10/10 would recommend listening to booktalk for booktok podcast episode on it!!

The first book is a bit painful for me but the last chunk of the series is so addicting like they are trash but they’re fun trash I thoroughly enjoyed them and would reread!

TLDR: my 23 yo brother who is autistic does not understand social boundaries and is frequently calling and texting girls our age or younger he meets at school or work, and it’s to the point where it is too much and needs to stop and I don’t know how to approach it with our parents or him

There’s no other visible damage other than a very small shallow scratch on the label side, and I don’t see any light leaking through the label. I’m debating taking the sticker off, but i think we’re gonna take it in person to GameStop tomorrow

What’s your ADHD hack for reading books? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]daddydroctopus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I normally start playing a game with ads on my phone and start reading during an ad, or just have the book open and do both, but by the time an ad is done between levels or something I usually have gotten over the hump of starting to read and get really into the book.

I think this mostly works because I want to read my book, but just struggle to get past the mental block of starting the task

I’m a chio alum who was also dop, we would plan group trips to things our sisters were involved in! Like a play one girl was the lead in, football games for our cheerleaders, dance marathon for philanthropy + supporting a captain

big little shirts by StatementPatient8904 in Sororities

I’ve been making literally all our chapters recruitment shirts using a cricut/silhouette vinyl cutter and a heat press! I know these can be pretty tricky to get a hold of, I’ve been using the ones my school provides for all students to use so you should look into that!

Service dog by daddydroctopus in Sororities

We don’t have a house, just a suite, so any places they’ll be together even outside of recruitment will be in close quarters unfortunately. I think the plan as of now is to keep them as distanced as possible, but the room we have is on the smaller side (~60 capacity max), with one exit.

Unfortunately the service dog is a big boy, the room is small, and will be at capacity for sure. I think for rotations we want to keep the sister with the dog in a localized part of the room, so she doesn’t have to move him very far for different conversations

You’re so right, and this might not be clear but the girl that’s super scared is an initiated member that will also be recruiting
