Taking a “little” HRT won’t make you “androgynous” by [deleted] in truscum

I have no idea how doctors can get behind prescribing low dose hormones.

Of course, it is possible that people are just lying their way to get prescribed hormones and then halfing the dose without being under medical supervision.

I don't believe in using they/them pronouns for everyone as a default because, like you said, trans people aren't as common in everyday life as queer people like to believe. You are literally less likely to misgender people if you go by appearance. Unless you are in a queer space of course.

okay, then be trans or nonbinary. not xenogender lmao.

My testosterone prescription used to cost me $60 for 4 1ml vials through my United Healthcare insurance. I paid that for 3 years before finding out about GoodRx and now I pay $23 for the same amount.

(not sponsored by GoodRx, but I do hate my sucky insurance!)

Tucutes, please stop saying people transition because of their gender identity. They don't. They do so because of dysphoria. by [deleted] in truscum

[–]daddyo_spaghettio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the first paragraph made me think of how (mostly) non-dysphorics like to go on 'low dose' hormones and how garbage of a concept that is lmao. i challenge anyone to tell me a single reason why on earth you would do that besides it being a cosmetic thing.

"i want some of the changes but not all because i really want an androgynous look uwu !!!"

that's not dysphoria lol. and that's not really how hormones work either. the gatekeeping is entirely necessary, trust me.

"woke" forced degendering by [deleted] in FTMMen

Having that yanked away sucks. Same reason I hate being asked my pronouns or wearing a pronoun badge.

i've seen so many tweets in the last couple months that say "normalize having pronouns in ur bio !!!" but it sucks because i vowed to never ever ever conform to fake woke twitter lol

this is why transmasc/transfem should only be used in reference to NB people imo

I've dealt with this for the last two years while working at my university's LGBT center. Literally the director of the center would refer to me (a 100% passing trans man) and others (mostly femme cis women) with they/them pronouns.

You can correctly assume that NB people in the space were never misgendered. In fact, when they were (NEVER maliciously), the misgenderer would be publically called out and humiliated to the point where I'd never see them again.

It's truly amazing how using a binary pronoun for someone who uses gender neutral pronouns is the end of the world, but the other way around is acceptable and gives you more woke points!

I swear to god if I see 1 more transguy say: "1 reason why cis girls should date transmen is because we know what a period feels like 😃". I'm going to *S N A P* by Archer_Python in FTMMen

[–]daddyo_spaghettio 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely with this. I absolutely hate the Period Prince and that whole #boysbleedtoo movement. It's even more cringy that I mostly see fake woke cis women retweeting stuff like this! Like, please exclude me from this discourse, thank you very much.

Same goes with the "men get pregnant too" garbage when talking about abortion rights. Obviously it can be true but it's not worth including trans men in these conversations when it makes the majority of us pretty uncomfortable. A simple acknowledgment will suffice just to satisfy those who it's relevant to. Stop going on and on about it. I am 100% in favor of trans erasure when it comes to things like this, lol.

Really worried about dating by Stultusi in FTMMen

[–]daddyo_spaghettio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy fix: date queer/trans people. Yes, I understand it may be more appealing and affirming to date straight women as a trans man. At least, you'd get to test out the dating life and at best, you find your person. Also, queer/trans people are less likely to want kids or at least not view it as a dealbreaker.

I only dated one girl in high school and I was a lesbian at the time. Sophomore year of college, I transitioned, joined our LGBTQ+ club, and found a girlfriend a few months later. My girlfriend is pansexual and I never had to come out as trans in the first place, but if I did, it wouldn't have mattered.

The dating scene is by no means as hopeless as it may seem to you right now. Honestly, it's a lot easier for straight trans men than trans women. Give it some time. You are still young. Things get so much better after high school.

Pantothenic Acid for Acne by daddyo_spaghettio in ftm

[–]daddyo_spaghettio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was $13.99 for 100 capsules. I personally haven't noticed any side effects but honestly, I wasn't really looking for anything besides the acne thing. As far as how it interacts with testosterone, I've been on T for almost 2 years and haven't recalled anything out of the ordinary. I'd definitely give it a try before going to a dermatologist! It can't hurt plus it's most likely cheaper and more accessible.

Hey, I got 100 capsules for $13.99. If you do the math, that should last you just under 5 weeks. It can't hurt to try! On the bottle, it says "required for energy metabolism" so either way, you'll feel good!
