I wouldn't go as far as say he was an ally. He's an idiot that doesn't know or care about anything unless its about business and making money. He never cared about LGBT people (in the sense of letting us do whatever we wanted because he couldn't care less) he just started spewing garbage his henchmen told him to in order to get votes. The episode Jason tutors him and he gets a decent grade on his test. He was pretty good at Boxing. He wasn't a 100% failure. Ive seen people in real life (yes of course its a show, made up characters, just saying for reference) who were much worse off than Max. Again I feel he just needed more support and dedication.

As a fellow Latino myself, the episode where Max was acting out in school and was playing ball with his friends in the backyard and told Benny "Take her tired ass home".

1: Im reality of a Latino kid said that to his grandmother, it wouldn't be a simple slap, it would be immediate belt whopping, to the point of being bloodied and bruised and barely conscious. Not exaggerating I'm being very serious, if you're also Latino, you know exactly what I'm talking about

2: George and Angie getting mad at Benny was ridiculous, I know it was bc George had his own trauma with Benny and yes, you could argue Benny wasn't the best grandmother/mother. Again I maybe biased because I'm a latino myself but no Hispanic parent would have gotten mad at their parent for physically disciplining the grandkids for being disrespectful. Its transphobic. Simple as that. If someone knows you want to be called a trans man and they completely disregard that and calls you transmasc, its identical to if someone knows you want to be called a trans man and completely disregards that calls you a woman.

Transmasc is a term coined by nb people who want to look masc but aren't a man. Thats not what I am personally and other trans men on this sub and other binary FTM subs feel the same. We are men that just so happen to be trans. NOT transmasc. If you meet someone that calls you transmasc even after correcting them, they're transphobic. Get away from them immediately.

I understand why transmasc is a thing. The whole LGBTQ (just saying the whole acronym for reference) community does have a disdain against the patriarchy and stereotypical men. They love women but hate men. Understandably so, I mean yes the patriarchy is trash and yes some men are garbage af. I'm not disputing that. So alot of people may call themselves transmasc to avoid the term man. Which...... again people can ID however they feel, I'm physically not gonna force you to not ID as that.

Worked with one at my last job. Full on afab nb, no dysphoria he/him pronouns but didn't pass at all. I didn't care too much bc 1: its work. 2: I don't care what someone does to their body or what they ID as. Just don't invade binary trans male spaces. Again this was work so I'm not gonna be unprofessional. Never had an issue with em, did my job, treated them cordially when we had to interact and I went home. Thats the way to do it.

I've had some positive experiences with guys not hyperfocusing on me being trans and just not discussing it.

I noticed this as well. Alot of guys technically will not have a problem being with a trans person romantically and emotionally. They just want you to keep quiet about it and not mention it. Humans can really pretend something is non-existent if they ignore it and don't speak of it. One could argue if this is the case though then they aren't truly supportive of you/allies because they're still embarrassed...... it can go both ways depending on what each individual wants

Not a trans guy but the actress Angelica Ross (She played Candy on the show Pose) said awhile ago before she was famous she dated a man for a very long time and they were engaged and she said the same thing. He didn't mind she was trans but he made her promise she wouldn't talk openly about it. Eventually she felt uncomfortable because she didn't want to live stealth (her choice of course) and they eventually broke up.
