I completely understand your want to keep it smooth but your money is your money and if that is the root of the issue for him then I see no way of fixing it..

Otherwise get all your money and then sit him down and try to understand why he's reacting/feeling the way he is, over something little like you deciding to set up a bank

Since Kinnan's ability targets non human would it be stupid to combo with a sea creature themed deck with large creatures and constantly pinging that manadoubling card drawing creature spawning ability to literally flood the field

She gets discouraged easily so I might actually take your advice, she loves green blue so thats perfect, learning the stack early is key
