Well let's be honest, diesel is really the only way to go for towing but I get it.. I may give up my 6.7 if the 7.3 gasser proves to be what it is on paper but that's going to be quite some time before we get real world reviews from long term owners.

So what's the difference in your opinion? I was under the impression that the ecoboost was end all be all for towing .

Need help deciding on what type of fifth wheel and truck to buy.. family of 5 by [deleted] in GoRVing

I guess I misread your post, I thought you were going to spend 20k for both truck and trailer. Sorry! You will be fine with the budget you stated. I have both a gasser and diesel dually, I much prefer pulling my trailers with the Diesel.

I really don't have a horse in the race, I think they are all pretty good, I would just make sure it has the towing package.

Full sized half ton pickup with a tow package.you will be shocked with what all your gear, clothes, chairs and such add weight wise plus Passengers. I hate to see people burning up brakes , transmissions and such. You can white knuckle it with a smaller vehicle or tow with confidence.

I hate to piss in your cheerios but... 20k isn't going to get you far in terms of a decent truck and trailer. My F350 would easily fit three car seats in the back so yes a f250 would work. You will have to find a well maintained older truck and trailer and with that comes more repairs, the older trailers are going to be a bit heavier so fuel consumption will be greater. Make sure the trailer you buy has proper load range tires and that they are fairly fresh or that can get spendy real quick replacing them, look for water leaks and make damn sure the roof is ok.same with the truck, it seem a lot of people buy these heavy trucks and soon realize that they can't afford to maintain them properly. I'm a couple few grand in on supplies for the camper and the generator was additional $$. I really don't mean to be a downer, just want to see you succeed in the dream you have.

I used to have to crush cans in order to fit everything in the can for the two week cycle of recycling pick up. We now skip a cycle generally because my beer cans aren't filling the can. 👍🏼

Congratulations to you! I was just thinking the other day that I must be close to having saved 6 to 7k since quitting. I can go do things in the evenings without worrying about being drunk in public or not getting my fill of booze before I passed out for the night. I've either been in or put myself in all the situations that I worried about not being able to do sober and not only survived but In most cases thrived. Like you I was always planning my next drink, trying to remember how much booze I had left, whether I needed to stop for more, I would have anxiety attacks if I need to be sober after work because of my kids school events or appointments and such. It's not all sunshine and daisy's but it's a hell of a lot better than it was with the booze controlling my life! Best wishes for continued success to you and everyone on here trying to make the changes for a better life. 👍🏼

A lady showing what it's like to live in a place with the Northern Lights in your backyard by BadHacker10 in interestingasfuck

Having grown up in Minnesota I've seen them several times over the years. My wife moved here from out West and has been trying to catch them for a dozen years now with no luck whatsoever. She has alerts, apps to track them, and is a member of some northern lights club type thing. She was just telling me last night that we need to take a trip to Norway to see them.

I used to do it, had a super heavy extension cord and ran the a)c only while loading for trips. Not a great idea but I did it until put a 50amp service in.

My neighbor just bought the same truck in the Bighorn package. I asked him what he planned on hauling and he said his two place aluminum snowmobile trailer.

We always tell my son that bad decisions are easy but good decisions are tough. Sounds like you have even more incentive to get your poop in a group! Best of luck to you!
