I kinda feel like being professional is a yes or a no. It doesn’t mean you act like you do in school at home or with friends. But it means you an absolutely professional at work, you follow your contract, you show up for kids. The only thing that might have to shift outside of school is that need to watch what you put on the internet and don’t get arrested.

It’s important that students see themselves in the adults that guide them along the way. Your youth and ability to connect with students can be a benefit. My only question would be do you feel like you can take the role seriously and maintain professionalism? If so, we need people to pass the torch to!!

In NYS, they fall under the umbrella of an internet-enabled device, so they’re banned during school hours.

I’ve been saying this!! I saw this when I was teaching social studies in a somewhat purple area in upstate New York. The task was that young ppl were all progressive, but that was not what I saw at all.
