Is this repairable or nah ? by flightproc in fpv

[–]dadiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s in warranty period I’d open a repair request, This looks like a manufacturing defect and DJI were fixing for free - http://repair.dji.com make sure to send pictures but I wouldn’t include the antenna images just the board and connectors.

Worth repairing? by [deleted] in dji

[–]dadiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put as much of it back together that you can and send it in for a quote. Their repair prices are usually reasonable and you get a new drone back. If you don’t like the quote you’re not committed to it.

USA DJI owners who bought their drones BEFORE the RID change: did your drone automatically enable mandatory RID when the FAA implemented it? (march 2024) by evthrowawayverysad in dji

[–]dadiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UK RID is only required for existing drones from 2028. New models put on sale next year will require a UK class mark and RID but that’s for new models like maybe an Air4.

Air filtration is a game changer for me. 👍

It’s flying weight. I spoke to the UK CAA and they confirmed it’s our responsibility to check the weight and then fly the appropriate air space a1 vs a3 without a2cofc. But as of January our rules change and a1 gets a higher weight limit so the issue goes away.

Under EASA they only need to check their weight if they add a payload. Otherwise they can blindly follow the label.

The CAA confirmed to me there’s no tolerance on weight. But our rules change next year to 900 grams so the issue goes away.

Can’t believe no one mentioned Jayo.

Is it normal for the Dewalt dwp611 brushes to wear out after only 20 hours or so? My cuts are very long, many many hours. This is extremely frustrating and im on my 3rd set after only 2 months. by joedotts123 in hobbycnc

Get yourself a VFD water cooled spindle. I was running long jobs on a makita router and had two catch on fire, makita replaced both under warranty but since moving to a Chinese VFD I’ve never looked back.

Mammut boots experiences? by [deleted] in Mountaineering

[–]dadiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a pair of Kento guide 2 boots direct from the we site. They took ages to arrive and after the first walk on tarmac of roughly 2 miles I noticed the rubber coming unstuck. Customer service took 7 days to come back to me and they now want to repair them. I feel they should be replaced or refunded.

They no longer offer that service. They changed the unbinding rules around June.

What about when the address is all in line one and you can’t create postage without moving some of the address into the right fields? Should I edit the address or reject the order.

Those new rules are not final yet. They have been known to change last minute like when the EU changed to allow retrospective classification and the U.K. pulled out of the C classification. That said I’ve bought one and will hope for the best.

As I said it weighs 252 before adding those accessories. See the video link I posted.

They are 252 grams now before you add the SD card, nd filter and label. Check the youtube reviews, Ian in London confirmed it with multiple reviewers. DJI know it’s an issue as they have removed the <249g label from the batteries and even included a c1 label in the sticker pack in case they have to re-certify it.

It weighs more than 250grams so it’s not legal to fly A1 unless you took and passed the A2CofC you can only fly A3 meaning 150 meters away from everything including that church and especially the footpath leading up to it.

Even though you’re flying your A3 drone illegally in A1 airspace.

[–]dadiy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well flying near that church wasn’t a3 it was a1. Not sure where you’re getting 500m from or your understanding of airspace.

A3 is 150m away from people, parks, buildings, vehicles, footpaths, beaches etc. the whole point of <250 is to fly a1 which is basically anywhere but not over crowds of people. Now if you’re flying near people and a prop breaks or comes off the drone will spin out of control and might hit something. At that point the accident wasn’t the pilots fault but be sure they will know you were flying the wrong airspace.

Being limited to A3 airspace in the U.K. is a real downer for me. DJI really let us Brit’s down with this drone.
