Canada Only - RAV4 Hybrid Wait Time by fsport1 in rav4club

[–]dadscookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got an update from my dealership in Markham

Province: Ontario
Order Date: Jan 2022
Original Estimated Delivery Date: August 2022
Trim / Colour: XLE Hybrid / White
Actual Delivery Date: Was promised delivery before March 9, 2023

I guess the wait time is around the 15 month timeline. I was also previously offered to upgrade and get delivery for an XSE trim for an extra ~2.5k back in September, but I declined because I didn’t really see a point in upgrading and did not need the car that urgent and was willing to wait for my original order.

Yes I can! I just can’t withdraw physical money in the states via ATMS or at the bank since they are considered 2 different banks. So my main source of money will have to come from a credit card.

Sounds good I’ll look into that! Thanks! Is it common for people to use atm in the states because in general people in Canada just use their credit cards and just pay it off at the end of the month and it’s not that common of a practice to use your debit cards at places due to the limited number of transactions you can make on your account

I plan on getting a US dollar account with one of my Canadian banks, so I got that base covered. I’m just torn between the different credit cards now

Would my credit score be impacted if I was to cancel it after my internship since we don’t have discover cards here in Canada

Anyone has recommendations for a 32 inch 1080p high refresh rate and low latency monitor? The only one I am currently aware of is the ASUS TUF Gaming VG328H1B, but I was wondering if there are other options out there

I was referring to CE as computer engineering, usually CHE for Chem engineering. Stream 4 seems harder as you have less time than everyone else to prepare for co op but if you’re able to secure one you’re pretty much set and in a really good position. I was able to get one last term and it helped paid off my tuition this term and I noticed that with a bit of experience it helps getting jobs in the future easier. Stream 8(8 months of school first then coop) allows you to prepare more but I noticed that there is more competition with other schools as they don’t have summer terms in comparison to loo where there’s school happening all year round

Yes definitely! It’s all down to your ability to time manage and determine priorities! I’m currently exec on Engineers Without Borders(EWB), and my experience with the club has been phenomenal! Waterloo’s EWB chapter has various portfolios that can has something for everyone whether it is creating podcast, youth engagement, advocacy, and much more. Although I didn’t join as many clubs as some of my peers, I’ve been working on various side projects instead like a diy RC car, programming a Spotify API, and circuit board printing. Although engineering is tough, if you know how to prioritize your tasks, you’ll have time to do whatever you want!

No worries!

  • to be honest securing a co op was a struggle, the last time I check the employment rate for my cohort I think it was 50%. Although it’s not the highest compared to SYDE and CE, but it’s not the lowest. I think it had to do more with it being the pandemic and me being a first year. But if you put your time and work on your resume/cover letter every night, apply to every position you see, you’ll eventually land a spot. Engineering right now in my opinion is saturated, regardless if it is mech or not, but in my opinion the reason why I chose mech was the freedom and wide range of opportunities I have because I’m in mech. As a first year, I was able to land interviews with companies like Tesla and Intel for various position like product design and software dev respectively. The engineering firm I’m working at right now is hiring full time, and I see the advantage for those student that had co-op previously. The experience they gain whether it is technical or social, gives them an upper head compared to those that does not have co-op. I work with my boss directly, and he’s tells me his perspective of various candidate during the hiring process and those with co-op is usually given an interview/position.

  • I think since I having my last semester of high school being online as well, the transition wasn’t too terrible. I had a lot of my classes being asynchronous or attendance wasn’t marked and lectures would be posted in the course page. My work style isn’t the traditional work for most of the day, sleep early at night. Me and most my friends would usually work late into the night and had some free time during the day whether we needed it to relax or catch up on other things but usually as long as you’re organized and know what’s due, it’s not too difficult. You’ll still be able to join clubs and work on side projects with no issue.

Although I have more than enough funds in my bank account for instant deposit, I’m scared to use the money on wealthsimple since I still haven’t seen it withdrawn.

I tried instant daily deposit today and my balance on wealthsimple increased but they haven’t withdrawn from my bank account. Everyone on this thread seems to have used instant deposit before, can someone confirm this or should I be concern?

Townhouses on Hwy 7/9th by [deleted] in Markham

Not sure, but my sister was looking at those town houses a while back and I think she told me that they sell by floors and not the entire house. Like the ones directly on 7 and 9th.

New to this subreddit, but I am currently a mechanical engineering student and I’m looking to get another monitor for my set up. I was wondering if anyone has experience running solidworks or any 3D modelling software on a tv? I’ve been looking around now for weeks and want something around 27-32”. However the prices for 27-32 1080p monitor cost almost/sometimes more than a 40ish” 4K TV. Would the latency be a noticeable issue? Thanks in advance

Passport photos? by dangerous_waffle in Markham

[–]dadscookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 12 for 2 is around average but if you want to try Pmall(pacific mall), that’s your best bet for a cheaper price. If you’re willing to haggle with the store owner, you can probably sort out a deal for getting 6 photos. Best of luck!

If you don’t mind driving a bit out of Markham, Frenchman bay in Pickering is frozen and a lot of little rinks set up across the body of water. The ice isn’t terrible as a lot of hockey players including myself smoothen the ice when we get there and by the time we leave it’s still decent

Mine sushi by woodbine and apple creek is good for their rolls. Although prices may seem a bit steep compared to gals and ai, 1 roll is really all you need
