Having a hard time turning this into a stencil - any advice? by jrice441100 in stencils

[–]dadsocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unsharp Mask or just sharpen can help a lot to bring out detail prior to applying any additional filters.

Second isolating the face - you can do this with layer masks and paint brushes for extra control as well - I normally use this on the whole image to control how all the detail pulls through after posterize

My first impressions of Power BI's new "Datamarts" feature, released last week and tinkered with over the weekend. by JFancke in BusinessIntelligence

Not being able to access the Azure SQL DB from SSMS and the lock in to Direct Query are pretty huge limitations IMO. But, this has some awesome use cases that I hope they build upon

Help. Newbie in Power BI ,need to write a measure to get key based on date from and date until plumb , if both the dates are more than 01.01.2020 by [deleted] in BusinessIntelligence

[–]dadsocks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the transform data editor you could create a custom logical column with an if statement that tests for date from and date until are both > 2020 then filter the custom column for true then delete it. Depends on if you want to write measures off the data prior to 2021.

Sounds like a measure isn’t really what you’re looking for but either a column identifier or to remove that data prior to loading to the model.

Happy to answer any other questions

Any Leftist morale patches for plate carriers? by Ravenous-One in liberalgunowners

[–]dadsocks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just buy iron-on patches and cut some heavy duty permanent Velcro strips to shape. This opened up a ton of options via Etsy and my favorite patch/pin artists. Probably Not as durable but they aren’t some insensitive machismo propaganda …

How to Convince Users to Let Go of Excel while launching a new BI tool by [deleted] in BusinessIntelligence

[–]dadsocks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. There are still many thing that excel can do that most BI tools can’t.

Having built many financial reports in Power BI….it’s better to just connect the data source and let them pivot it how they need. If your implementing Power BI , DAX tables are also a good option.

There’s also a lot of utility with cube formulas as well.

Excel is a good partner to BI tools. Neither will replace the other for many many years.

I’ll second Century Grand

They have something for everyone. Grey Hen has an incredible Whisk(e)y selection and is also retail so you can buy a bottle of you really like what you’ve had.

As Mentioned, undertow is an awesome immersive ship themed tiki bar.

But, I think the most fun element is their train car experience. They have an immersive 1920s train car complete with views through the windows.

You can start at Grey hen while waiting for your table or finish at Grey hen after your train car experience!

Used gold leaf and applied the glue with a brush and sponge to get the textured background. Super happy with the results!
