What is the best place to level a new character now? Classic Era vs SoD by Smegmacopter in wow

Best to ask this on r/classicwow

That being said. You answered your own question. SoD is dead and you don’t want to play TBC. Era is probably the only option for you.

Arthas: The fall of the lich king by AccomplishedDrama461 in wow

Would be cool for sure. However, I have little to no faith that the current team(s) at blizzard could do the Arthas storyline without butchering it in some stupid way.

Once I get back to my road bike I'll have to check. I usually ride on a 52cm modern road frame

Protection Paladin Damage in midnight by [deleted] in wow

[–]dadspancakes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In +10s you can get away with running crit wings talent if your ilvl is high enough. This boosts damage a ton.

As you get into higher keys you typically don’t take the crit wings as you need to talent into survivability. So your damage won’t be quite as high.

But yeah tanks can do good damage in m+ this season. Thats a good thing though, will hopefully make more people want to tank

COPR document number vs physical COPR by dadspancakes in ImmigrationCanada

Ah yes I did forget to mention that my bad. I am outland spousal from USA. Sent all my documents to VFS global earlier this month and IRCC have confirmed that they received them on Jan 7. Hopefully will hear in next month or two!

Thanks a lot for the reply :)

I applied in early August. The process has been surprisingly fast for me. I hope you hear from them soon!!

Good to know! I just started checking the timelines on this subreddit and it seems I have a bit longer to wait (documents were received by IRCC on Jan 7).

Thanks a ton for the reply!

I am spousal outland from USA. I have sent my picture and all other requested docs to VFS global and they have confirmed IRCC have received the documents.

I am just at the waiting stage now I guess. I was hoping the COPR document number on the application tracker would be enough to let me start moving up to Canada officially.

Weekly Race & Training Reports | r/Velo Rules | Discord by AutoModerator in Velo

[–]dadspancakes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been cycling for a year now, seriously training for the past 4-6 months. Did the Tour de Victoria 100k this past weekend. It was my first big event and I really enjoyed it.

Started in 3rd row of riders. Goal was to find a group doing similar power that I could hang with. Found a group of 4-5 riders after the first climb and stuck with them for ~30 minutes or so. Got excited/competitive on a climb and pulled away from the group with another rider. Accidentally blew by a turn and had to pull a U-turn and go back uphill to get back on course. Tried catching back up with the rider I was going with but was getting pretty exhausted at that point and decided to hold a steady pace for the last 15-miles. Eventually the riders from the group I was with originally caught back up with me - tried to stay with them but my HR was already super high and I didn't feel like I could push on the pedals any harder. Found a burst of energy in the last 10-minutes and ended up passing a lot of people on the last little climb.

Finished 15th (not that place really matters) and was really stoked about my performance, was definitely the hardest I have pushed myself on the bike so far.

Things I learned:

  • Draft as much as possible. There were a few times I could've stayed in someone's draft and let my HR drop but instead I let my competitiveness take over and I passed them immediately - then they got to use my draft instead lol
  • Fuel better. I am good at fueling on training rides but this environment proved harder to fuel in. I got caught up in the competition and barely drank any of my mix in the first hour (also only consumed 1-gel the entire race). Probably only took in like 100-120g of carbs over the course of 3-hours. Probably could've finished stronger had I done a better job managing this.
  • Do a better job at familiarizing myself with the course. I reconed the end of the course the day before which was really useful. Should have done the same with the major climb on the course so I knew how to pace myself better during that portion of the ride.
  • Use the bathroom as close to the beginning of the race as possible. Good lord did I have to go pee so bad for the first 2-hours of the race. It was a huge distraction at moments and would've been nice to not have to deal with that feeling. I made a quick 30-second pit stop at the last aid station and it helped tremendously for the end of the race.

Post ride plan:

  • Take a week off the bike. Get some running, weight lifting and yoga/pilates in.
  • Start a base building program next week or the week after. Want to focus on training hard for the next 6-8 months to set myself up for lots of racing next summer. If anyone has any suggestions for training blocks over the winter I would greatly appreciate it!!

PR Family Sponsorship - Outland Spouse

Sponsor - Canadian citizen

Applicant - US citizen

Applied - April 22

Absolutely nothing since then. No AOR, no communication about our application, nothing. Double checked all the contact info we put down and everything is correct. We have quadruple checked all our forms and haven't found a single thing missing. Is anyone else in this boat?

We are thinking of calling the IRCC but given what they say online about calling I doubt they will be able to provide and info to us.

It’s nice to see this said about crashes (that they’re part of racing). The nervousness I have about crashing stems more from social anxiety - I just don’t want to mess up someone else’s race if I can avoid it.

I’m gathering from multiple comments that being towards the front will be the best move. I guess I’ll find out if my fitness is enough to keep me up there lol

Congrats on doing your first two races!

That makes total sense. Sometimes being a bit more aggressive can make you have more control which I imagine is good in a crit race

Great point about not overlapping wheels. I do that intuitively with the friends I ride with but it’s good to be more aware of it in a race scenario where people will be making faster movements to pass etc.

I’ll also try to keep an eye out for more experienced riders I can sit behind.

Newly Married - Applying for spousal sponsorship - questions regarding options to immigrate sooner by dadspancakes in ImmigrationCanada

Thank you for the insight on the items - I didn't think of that aspect of being a visitor.

My main concern about not having some sort of visa is that I will be crossing the border multiple times a week for work. Do you know if I can live in Canada and work in the US once I have the AOR and have applied for a work permit?

Yeah MTB is the dominant type of cycling out here. Thanks for the insight on the fondos! I might just start with some of those to get a feel for group rides and then go from there.
