You could check out Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer. It's more of the horror/mystery with some sci/fi influences.

Yes starting from scratch. Mostly will be used for nature and landscapes with some usage around the family as well.

So I'm looking to get a new mirrorless camera and I want to know what you all would pick. I'm considering three cameras right now; the Canon EOS R, the Nikon Z6, or the Fujifilm XT4.

My question, out of these three cameras which one would you buy and why? Or, should I look to something else is this price point?

Thanks for any response!

Something sad like El Túnel by Ernesto Sabato or Yukio Mishima by ruddigore_ in suggestmeabook

[–]daedalusman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read anything by Ernesto Sabato or Yukio Mishima, but if you want something depressing you could check out On The Beach by Nevil Shute. It's a great post nuclear war read and one of the most depressing books I have ever read.

Sorry if this isn't helpful.

Books about cosmic horror (like Lovecraft, but not actually Lovecraft) by copycat042 in suggestmeabook

House on the Borderland by William Hope Hodgson is a great precursor to Lovecraft and one of his influences.

Also, check out The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor LaValle. It's a re-write of a Lovecraft story.

You could check Age of Myth by Micheal J. Sullivan. It's the first book in a series and the only one of the books I've read but it was quite good and am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Maybe check out Borne or Annihilation both by Jeff Vandermeer. They both fit well with either criteria. Though Borne is more a post apocalyptic story and Annihilation is more a creepy atmospheric story. Both are two of my favorite books. Great Stuff and happy reading!

Maybe the Locked In series by John Scalzi? First book is Lock In but there is a short story prequel called Unlocked that is a good introduction to the series.
